I liked it. The only question from last season that it answered was where the others took Jack, Sawyer, and Kate. I was kinda hoping for some more answers, but still good.

It just wasn't season-premier material. It was enjoyable enough, but even compared to the average lost episode it was pretty boring. I don't know what they were thinking starting the season with that. |

My thoughts at this point is that Dharma is just a would-be utopian society, and being "invaded" by the plane crash has them all up in arms.
They're going to try and buy off Jack for his professional skills. They'd like to have Kate for another breeder in their closed society, but to do so they'll likely have to part her from Sawyer, probably by dehumanizing him in front of her by treating her well while he eats and lives as an animal. An odd first episode, I agree, but hopefully they're going someplace interesting with it. And hopefully they've actually thought ahead with it. Just a few thoughts.
