In a couple of month's I will be getting my A5. I want to know if I get one with the E-Grip installed does it come with the part's to shoot without it if I want? Or do you need the whole lower receiver to make it like a stock A5? Also if I go with the Stealth model does it come with the stock barrel and A.S.A? I'm thinking not, but I have been wondering. The vertical adapter means you can screw your tank into the gun right? I want to get a flatline for it but I need it to shoot Wally World paint (Like Scorch, My 98 Loves the Stuff!). I have read many post's about it needing good paint. I might even get a A5A2 from www.specialopspaintball.com. Any tip's welcome!!!

umm apex is much better with cheap paint, plus is so much better than flatline.

you should consider the us-5 if you're getting the egrip one. not going to go into detail now but it does come with both the electronic and the mech triggers and unlike the egrip a5 they can be changed in 5 seconds in game.

I'm still in the shopping and comparing stage. I have seen the US5. Not a bad marker. I have to tell you for the price it can't be beat! I didn't know it came with both triggers. that is a plus. But what about upgrades, reliability, and tech support like Tippmann.

If you get the A-5 with the E-Grip pre-installed you probably will not get the stock grip - but you should ask the retailer to be sure.

For that reason you might consider buying the E-Grip separately.

As to interchangeability - I am not particularly familiar with the US-5, but it is very fastand easy to change out the E-Grip for the stock grip.  I could certainly be done in the middle of a game, but why you would want to do that is beyond me.

if you run out of batteries... oh and it comes with a rechargable battery and charger which i dont believe the a5 has.

very reliable

i heard tippmann's tech support has been failing a bit lately but probably wrong. every email i sent to pcs was back in 1-2 days one was even back in like 2 hours. never called cause i've never had to call.

as for upgrades, it accepts all spyder threaded barrels, a5 stocks and so much more. pcs puts out new products every little while the newest being a double trigger and a m-16 style barrel.

though alot of people on this forum dont like it cause its suspiciously close to the a5 (nice way of saying it) it is an amazing gun.

if you want to know more just pm with questions or you could join my forum. i have yet to find someone on the net that knows as much about this gun as me. (besides the pcs people obviously)

The A-5 E-Grip runs on a single 9-volt, which could also be changed out in the field (although it would obviously be easier to change the grip).

You will get thousands and thousands of shots off each 9V, but I would suggest switching it out every couple of games anyway, and then you won't have to worry about it.

dont you need a screwdriver for that?

yep and you can also swap out the us5 battery for a normal 9v in game.

Carl claims this all the time, but not many agree with him, I'd say get the Flatline, A-5 is very easy to change grips with, don't see why Carl makes it sound hard, all you do is pop out two pins (push pins) on the grip and take it off, VERY easy many... five or ten seconds to do.
Also, Tippmanns support is still fine, I just called them last week, no problems at all and very speedy help.

Yah but does the A5 E-grip come with the parts needed to shoot stock if it fails me! If I go A5 it will be my primary gun. I want it to be function over form. My 98 will become my pimped back up gun with many planned upgrades. I want the A5 to have the best barrel for cheap paint, the ability to shoot fast and accurate. Also be able to play speed and woodsball. Keep the tip's comming!

j&j barrel is perfect

and dont say not many agrree with me cause most people do plus youd have to account for the bias for a tippmann product.

i never said it was very hard but does the egriped a5 even come with a mech? plus it's a big thing to carry onto the field. and what do you do about the asa during replacing?

I use Macro... so the ASA is no problem, I just unscrew it and screw it into the other grip, and then just pop in the Macro...that's what I love about Macro compared to Braided Lines.
I don't count the "Bias" on the forum, I'm counting my experiance with them and I don't see APEX having ANY advantages over the Flatline, besides being able to "Adjust" it which if you have time to adjust the barrel on the field, you are camping... so get off. Not to mention the Apex is quite possibly, the uglyist paintball barrel to date.

I was thinking J&J or Lapco 14inch. On the lapco, what does bead blasted mean? I'm going to guess polished? Also can I mount my tank vertical into the A5? To help keep the liquid co2 on the bottom of the tank. I will probably never go HPA or nitro. C02 is all I have for fill in my area. I want to keep the gun tight for those day's of speedball. Maybe even a Q-Loader. If I go that route I should get the PCS (No Cyclone). Mr. blonde I know you have alot of knowledge of the A5. Will the flatline work with wally world paint! I would buy good paint if I had a source! So far the PCS look's good for the Price! But the A5 is still a Tippmann!!! Keep em commin guy's!

Bead blasted is matte.

Yes. But it will make the setup taller.

Let's not even go towards the PCS. This never goes well.

Wally world is not a brand.

Uh.. Walmart normally carries these.. Big Balls (RPS) Brass Eagle Paint.. just stay away, personally, the only paint I recommend at Walmart is Super Swirls by RPS... it's MUCH better than the RPS Big Balls. Given, you can fire Big Balls through the Flatline, they shouldn't break, they are strong.. just "LARGE" bore and they are all in different sizes.. where with the Super Swirls, they are all medium bore, you don't pick out one outta the bag than grab another and compare them and notice on is big, and one is small, which you CAN do if you buy Big Balls.. all in all, only buy Super Swirls from Walmart they really don't have any other good paint. YOU CAN use the cheaper brands.. I'd worry more about the bolt crunching them than your Flatline though.. I have yet to have a ball break from the "pressure" that Flatline puts on them

pms hybrid

that's pretty funny you say that cause the a5s arent even made in america anymore.

i meant the jj is perfect for what he wants

i was talking about the apex

you misunderstood me plus a mech grip incase you run out of batteries.

and how many posts have you made about the a5?

why would you say that about the q, the qloader replaces the cyclone anyways.

i doubt you tried one, even then, im sure u didn't put it through enough to actually see about it.

1. No, I'm a dude.

2. A-5s are clearly made in a better part of China.

3. Ok.

4. Sorry, I forget what you're talking about. Looks like you caught my pissy post before I edited it.

5. If your battery dies, you suck. Switching grips in game is very very tourney legal too.

6. Plenty. Why is that relevant?

7. I know. That was my point.

8. How dare someone actually use a US-5 and not like it! Based on what you've said, it should bend down and secks me before I even shoot it, so extra effort to see it's awesomeness should not be necessary. I shot it, played one game with it, gave it back. It was ok.

5. who uses a5s/us5s for tourneys?

8. allright i can respect that... oh and you have to press the button below the asa for the bend over and sechs thing....worth every penny.

but you must aggree that: A. as a tippmann player you are likely to be biased to the a5 at least a little.

B. the fact that we're on the tippmann forum also presents a bias.

oh and what about you.. apex vs flatline?

shake?

5. It happens.

8. Dang. Missed that feature.

A. I'm actually an Angel player.

B. No comment

Apex. Answered in another thread somewhere.
