I am looking to set my A-5 up like a M4. My fav right now is the OPSGEAR short M4 barrel kit. (10 inch) NICE! I like shorter barrell like 10inches or no more that 12, no the 14 or 16 inches like a M-16 would be So my ? are is the OPSGEAR 10 inch M4 barrel better that the stock barrel? How much better, is it a med size bore for paint? OR should i get a lapco or another type to Affter market barrel and try to find a M$ kit for it So my next ? IF you had a stcck A-5 barrel, the Posgear 10 inch M4 barrer and a 12 inch lapco, how much difference is theri between all ther barrels? |

yes get an after market barrel and then get a shroud to fit it. Don't keep the stock barrel. I suggest J&J Ceramic. |

Look into a LAPCO 12" Bigshot then find a M4 shroud that's compatible with it.

The Opsgear barrel should be better than stock, but not the best. I would suggest one of the new SOC barrel things that specops created, with a M16 barrel tip muzzle brake thing. Ever tried www.pbreview.com ? |

By far, one of the best milson barrels would be the lapco bigshot. Comes in 8,10,12,14,16,18 and 20 inch lengths. It is deadly accurate and looks good on any setup; especially the M4 series. The stock barrel is garbage, do it right the first time and use your money to buy a good barrel that will last a lifetime. Edited by VimyRidge - 25 November 2006 at 1:16am |

Have a 8" Bigshot on my A5 and am very happy with it.
That would provide for excellent accuracy, but could, depending on the shroud and how it attaches, make changing inserts difficult. Edited by Mack - 25 November 2006 at 7:43pm |
