Dear friends, according to your experience and knowledge, do you think that the Triumph eXT will work be a good marker for a speedball rental field? Will this marker strong enough like the 98C and A5 to sometime resist the abuse of the rental player? Thanks for advice...

Okay.
The Triumph's internals are the same as the model '98, so you know that the mechanical integrity of the Triumph is solid. The only issue that I can see is that the marker body is plastic and will not take quite as much abuse as a regular '98 or A-5. That said, all of the reports I've been given have stated that the Triumph's plastic is extremely durable and stands up well to just about any abuse you'd find on the field. The only issue that I can see in using it as a rental marker at a paintball field is that you will have to invest in motorized hoppers for each marker to keep the rental players from having any issues such as chopping balls and mis-feeds. That will significantly increase the start-up costs not to mention the need to replace batteries in both the Triumph markers and the motorized hoppers on a fairly regular basis. The last issue you may have is that the Triumph EXT's rate of fire will also cause issues. Running the marker off of CO2 at 12 to 15 balls per second will cause severe chill-down of the CO2 which can affect the performance of the marker. HPA/N2 would be a much better air source. The cost of batteries, cost of motorized hoppers, and CO2 chill-down factors are pretty much the only issues, but they are expensive ones. Personally, I'd stick with the '98 or A-5 for rental markers. The field I used to work at used '98 and pro-lite markers exclusively and have never had many issues. Now, If you want to allow renters the potential to use a marker such as the Triump EXT, I would suggest investing in around 10 EXT set-ups. You can always offer them the ability to "upgrade" their rental to the EXT without having to spend so much money to start up. We do that with the e-grip '98's with motorized hoppers and HPA tanks at the field where I now play. It works well and gives people the opportunity to choose at which level they want to play. |

Tallen has it right. I have an eXT, and I have no concerns about the toughness of the gun whatsoever. It is very, very tough. The only question would be the electronics, which I presume are just as delicate as the electronics in any other gun. But the Triumph guns do not have any anti-chop technology, and the eXT can work up quite a rate of fire. As a result, fast hoppers are highly recommended - I routinely outshoot my Revvy and get breaks, so I don't play the Triumph unless I have an Eggo or HALO on it, and those things can get expensive for rentals. The eXT can outshoot a gravity hopper in the hands of even the greenest rookie. But again, these are really the same concerns you will have with any electro-rental. I might suggest getting the XL or XT guns for rentals instead. They won't be as fast, of course, but you also won't need fancy hoppers, and you won't have to worry about people breaking the electronics. That said, I think the Triumph series will make excellent rental guns. Super simple, super reliable, super tough, and very inexpensive. The ONLY downside, from a rental perspective, is that you have to do a full disassembly to do a complete cleanout. But unless you want your rentals super clean, I wouldn't worry about this too much either. Welcome to the forum, and good luck. |
