anti siphoned co2

I had two 20 oz tanks setup with anti siphon tubes years back just to have a back up for my imp just in case my reg should mess up on the hpa tank.  The airsmith didnt mark which way should go up, how do i tell which way should be pointing up? Probably a dumb question.

With the tank empty, screw the valve out of the tank. Then screw the valve into the ASA and change the position of the siphon tube until its end is in the top of the tank position for the way you hold the marker. Mark the valve body if you want. Screw the valve back into the tank using red or blue LocTite to seal it and lock it into the bottle. Since the anti-siphon position was set with the valve screwed into the ASA, every time you screw it on into the all-the-way-home point and the tube will be in the correct position.

Wow, I cant believe you did (not?) add a disclaimer. Please just take it to a proshop so they can do it.

Working on these 20 oz CO2 tanks is not rocket science...though if attention is not paid to assure that the tank is empty before removing the valve, one my become a "rocket" scientest...maybe a dead one.

Removing the valve from a zero pressure tank presents no hazard. Reinstalling the valve with the proper selection of LocTite thread sealer assures that no hazard will ever develop.

The "safety valve" of this whole scenario is that the previous tech who installed his anti-siphon tube probably used a thread locker and Author will not be able to disassemble the tank. If Author figures out how to follow my instructions he will produce a superior end result and gain the satisfaction and the education about how to maintain his equipment.

If he is an imbecile, then I would suggest that he attempt this work in a room by himself so that when his innate incompetence bubbles to the surface only he will be eliminated from the gene pool.

Author doesn't come across as an 8 year old, but, then I would have done this safely when I was 8. My son, now headed for Engineering at Cal Poly, honed his extreme interest in all things mechanical, by doing exactly this type of functional investigation and accomplishment on paintball markers and all related equipment.
