Today I was taking out my gear to inspect it, becuase it's been awhile since the last time I played. First, my Halo neck sort of snapped off...atleast the thick plastic part did, not the blue thin part, anything I can do about that?
Secondly, the gauge on my 88/4500 is cracked as well, and it still has air in it, does this pose any safety hazard at all? |

The gauge I would say no because some botttles gauges already have holes in them. As for the halo, superglue? or buy a new shell. |

so long as the tank is still holding air and it's just the gauge lens that is cracked, you're fine. That said, what were you doing with your gear bag? Using it for kick-boxing practice?

HAhaha finally a person with my problem with the feedneck. Yes superglue will work but only for a couple times it will keep cracking and you will have to get a new shell

New shells, but in the short run you can try to glue it or use duct tape. I'd use the tape. The guage does not hold pressure, so a cracked face isn't potentially harmful. |

No one seems to be aware that the shells are covered under warranty. Call the company to set up return for free replacement. OR You can go on Ebay and by a set of the Suicide shells for about $29. I am trying my first set. They look as well if not better made than the OEM Halo parts. Maybe they will last longer...we'll see. |

Guys, I have sent two sets of shells back to the manufacturer and received free replacement after talking to the head of the company on the phone. One set of shells spontaniously developed cracks around the screw bosses. The other broke at the typical feed neck (it had not been sanded...don't know if sanding voids the warrenty) I was told on the phone that the shells were covered with a lifetime warrenty if you could show proof of ownership...a copy of the sales receipt. He told me to send them in. Just the shells with the copy of the receipt. It took about 4 weeks turn around, but we got them. These shells are polycarbonate and are not supposed to break. I was told that development of cracks is an indication that the shells were not maintained at the proper temp during the molding process...and thus were defective. I also did not know that there was a lifetime warrenty until I called the Odyssey factory and explained the problem. I was planning to just buy new shells when I called. When I explained the problem he said that the shells are made by the hundreds and some of the start up shells are produced in molds that are not up the the full correct temp. This tends to make them brittle and if they look OK, they may get through the inspection process. |

FYI-Poly carbonate (lexan) also does not like petroleum products , it causes it to "craze" or form small cracks. Lok-tite does a number on it as well.
