Of course De, it's a jericho 941 or "baby eagle" if you want to go americanized, personally if I can find a true IMI jericho that's what I'll get. Desert Eagles are nice but a jericho does the same thing and is compact. Besides why would it be a desert eagle? |

Youth? Please, I'm 18 but I've got years on my peer group, and as far as firearms go, I'm such a headcase that I plan on knowing each one inside and out before I even own it. But I thought you were asking becuase I wrote "You're going to carry that weight" under it, in which case I'd have to agree that something's off. The Desert Eagle is heavy as hell, whereas the Jericho feels beautiful in your hand not to big not to small and just the right weight ratio. Edited by Razgriz Ghost - 02 April 2007 at 2:11pm |

As far as I'm concerned, you're a youth until you're 21. :P

Ummm...you do realize that they're entirely different guns right? That the only thing they share is a manufacturer and an overall look? The Desert Eagle is an autoloader than can fire very high caliber handgun rounds, from a fixed barrel, the idea was for big game hunting or silhouette shooting. The Baby Eagle isn't very good, I've shot one and it's mediocre at best, especially with the price tag on it. Lots better handguns out there, the Desert Eagle doesn't really have any competition as it's almost in a class of it's own for .50AE capable autoloaders, but the Baby eagle had alot of much better guns for a lower price, and doesn't share any of the benefits like the locking bolt and fixed barrel that give the Desert Eagle it's accuracy. Kick it to the curb and step up to an M&P9 or a CZ. |

Are you joking? You must not be a very good shot then, I've fired three different jerichos and they've all been pretty damn good if I must say so myself. And a jericho chambered in .45 auto will suffice for taking down a target is what I was saying, the deagle is just a chunk, it's accurate no doubt but so is a rifle if I'm going to be carrying that kind of bulk around. I can't believe you bumped an old ass topic for that argument.

Your argument is baseless. I competitavely shoot handgun in IDPA, went to the Texas Regional a while back with the best shooters in Texas, and alot from Lousianna. You want to guess how many people shot Baby Eagles? None. No one used one. The entire appeal of the gun is it's appearance. Your only arguements have been that I am personally a bad shot, and seeing as you don't even own the gun you are standing behind and I own both of the alternatives I suggested, and shoot them both competatively, so I'd say I have you there, and that the Baby Eagle chambered in .45ACP is sufficient to kill a man, while correct, so is a Baby Eagle in 9mm, so is an M&P in 9mm or .45ACP, so what? The Desert Eagle is NOT a combat pistol. As I said in the post you probally didn't read much of, it was designed for big game hunting and silhouette shooting, and performs much better than the Baby Eagle in both of those regards.

Like I said I'd use a rifle before the deagle. And yes it is personal preference.

You're still putting the Desert Eagle into a combat role which it isn't meant for. You wouldn't pick a rifle over it in a handgun silhouette shooting match. And yes, it is a matter of personal preference. The Baby Eagle is not a bad gun, but no argument can be made that it is a very good one either. You can pick one up and get gunsmithing work done on it and I'm sure it'd be very good, but it's simply out performed by similar guns.

I had no problem getting a nice grouping from the thing stock from 150 + feet, that doesn't mean that I'm a good shooter and I'm sorry for saying that it meant that you were a bad one. I wasn't putting it in a combat role you also said that you could use it for big game hunting. Why? I'd use a rifle first. |

The novelty of it. Desert Eagles perform quite well actually at big game hunting. Since it's a sport and not really about efficiency a novelty gun can do quite well in that field, I've seen tons of pics of guys next to tigers or whatever they just shot holding their Desert Eagle and grinning.
