I'm looking at buying an X-7. I just wanted to get some thoughts or reviews about the X-7. Just tell me what you think about the marker.

I am going to buy one here in may because i love how customizable it is and the built in rails and air thru stock option is sweet. I am hoping to get a response.

X-7 = more expensive A-5 w/ the same exact performance, just more of a milsim look. I suggest you get a 98, but if you like the cyclone feed get an A-5. Otherwise look into another line of markers.

^^ Performance is not the exact same. The A-5 cyclone feeds 15 bps while the X-7 cyclone feeds 20 bps.

So you are saying the mediocre loader that comes onto the X-7 feeds 5 balls faster than the mediocre loader on the A-5? Well buy an upgrade to the A-5 loader, for less than the difference of the 2 guns, and then you still have an A-5 that cost less, but your cyclone will then feed as fast if not faster than the X-7.

Cyclone loaders are mediocre because they are built onto the gun, so they can't be moved to another marker, and if they break you can't switch a different loader onto the gun.

Besides awesome job pointing out the one non-cosmetic difference between the 2 markers. Does it really justify the increased expense?

Pretty rough standard for "mediocre".

Of course, the Cyclone is so cheap that I carry an extra one.  If my Cyclone were to break (which is far less likely than my HALO having a fit) I just swap out for another Cyclone.

I have pretty much one of every hopper, and the Cyclone is by far my favorite, unless I am playing serious speedball.  It's more reliable than anything else except a Revvy, the lightest loader I have, dead sturdy, and faster than my gun.  What's not to love?

If I could find a way to move the Cyclone to the top of the gun for speedball, I would never use another hopper.  Heck, I frequently play with my A-5 instead of my "better" guns specifically because I want to use the Cyclone.

I agree.  I have seen the X7 in action and it seems to do just as well as the A5 but at $100 more.  personally I am just going to stick with my A5 and upgrade the cyclone on it.

its worth the extra 100  for milsim players but the extra 5 bps isnt bad to the add. Unless 100 is chump change. I got one because im a police officer for the United States Air Force and i will be useing it as an extra training ground. while we have all these Terrorist in Iraq (yes im going to iraq buttt... i think ill leave me x-7 at home  ) they do alot of spray and pray (poor traing to no training) so ill take my x-7 setup and take me chances againts the speed ballers and learn to hunker down with a more realistic weapon in my hands...so IMO its all in what you value. if you want to pay the extra 100 for look the go ahead its your cash..but if you are REALLY considering Hard core sppeball that this isnt the gun for you.

I think the x-7 is really designed not just for MilSim, but for woodsball as well. I've held both and the X-7 is a little lighter and a little easier to hold. The differences with the cyclones is apparently minimum. Here is the thing, if you like the way an A-5 works, but you like the look of the gun then it comes down to which one you'd rather have. A gun you like to use, or a gun you like to use and see. Plus the X-7 lets you attach about 25 or so different parts already.

I got to hold an x7 last week for the first time... It felt really nice and was actually much lighter than I thought it would be. It is quite bulky which makes it feel even cooler. If I was going to go millsim, i'd go with that... waiting for some company to make a scar stock.

The cyclone is by no means "mediocre".

I have an X-7 and love it.  Shoots nice.  Cost $75 more than the A5 but it comes with a mag (toolkit), more rails, front shroud, and a slightly faster ported cyclone.  It would have cost more than $75 for the equivalent in an A5 for me.  Still they are basically the same gun.  Only draw back I can see is that it uses alot of air.
