Ok, a big issue with playing games like speedball is keeping a low profile for your hopper. Afterall having a big tank hanging off the side is a great way to be shot. I've been hit more in the hopper then anywhere else when playing.

has a company, or anyone else for that matter, ever suggested a hopper that uses the guns own air to push balls up into the gun from under it?

Picture a normal hopper but with the neck up on top. then add an air valve that goes into the hopper before it reaches the gun, pushes the balls up a feeding slot (like an upside down elbow) and then uses the air like normal.

That ever been done? Could it even work? I'm not very tech-savy so I can't possibly try to design it myself.

...So basically a Qloader, or Warp feeder, except no air operation?

It has been thought of before, but, people arent too keen on them.

Ive seen many people complaing about Qloaders being loaded and stuff like that.  And the warp never really caught on.  It can load into the 20s with a mod, but still, youd need a halo to feed that, so $70 for a warp, + the halo, so $170(new) for that setup.

There are just slight problems with designs.

Oh so it had been done before? Dang, I thought that was actually something new. (Note that I was decent enough to not ask about a paintball bow)

Are either of those two loaders still around, or did they fall by the wayside? Sounds like the idea wasn't that popular.

Both of them are still around.

But both of them are very expensive.

they are both still around but a warp feed is better for speedball because you can attach a hopper to it, as where qloaders are 100rnd. pods, but qloaders are used very often at my local scenario field

$40ish for a Warp, and i think $70 for the Q?

qloaders are a pain in the ass, i had one for 3 months and got tired of messing around with it every time i wanted to reload the qpod. i'd rather deal with the occasional hopper hit then the qloader.

btw- you are suppose to tuck your hopper into the side of the bag(speedball bunker-taco, dorito, tombstone..etc) so that only the side of your head and tip of barrel are exposed-from what i have been told.
Canadians do it on top.

Your gun should be flush with the side of the bunker, your hopper should not be hanging out in the open.

Warp-feeds are only an advantage from one side of your bunker.  when snapping from the opposite side, you have a huge bulk on your gun.  They also throw off the balance of the gun.  A good number of people used to have them around here, way back when.

I have a warp-feed and love it

And you do not have a huge mass when you come out on your offside because you just tilt the gun to the side and then you have just your barrel and top of your head sticking out.

It does not throw off the balanceof your gun at all. It actually makes it alot easier to carry. You rest the warp-feed in the crook of your arm and then your tank on your shoulder.  The only wait you feel is pretty much the front of the gun.

I suggest for people to try it before you bash it.

Warp: really cool, well made... ugly

Qloader: Also cool, somewhat low capacity, can screw up easily if you dont know what you're doing, worst company ever!!!

Of course with all these rebutals(sp), we are only talking about the sides of a bunker. Both the warp and the Q are a REALLY nice advantage when going over the top of a bunker.

Well the advice about hidding your hopper is fine (that is what anyone does by instinct mostly) but it only works when shooting left. If I need to shot to the right for some reason then I have to expose the hopper. Or if I'm playing outdoors then it is even more of a pain.

I've got to argue the "worst company ever" part.  I picked up a used/broken Q-loader setup for real cheap (okay, free) and their customer service on getting the needed repair parts to me (and throwing in a few extras when I explained an idea I had for putting it on my Phantom) was awesome.

Well I never even recieved mine

ordered it and they said it would take a week or two...

nothing so I called them and they said it had been shipped...

two weeks later, I called again, and there was a "screwup" and they said they were shipping another on next day or 2 day shipping... a week later, I just gave up

How does tilting your gun in change where the warpfeed/hopper are?  You still have to come out farther due to the placement of the barrel in relation to the hopper/bunker.

A) You don't want the weight at the front of your gun. A properly balanced gun is just that... Balanced

B) If you put your tank on your shoulder, you are going to look like a tool.

I suggest for people to try it before you bash it.

As I said, I have used one, and way back when, they were not that uncommon around here. I don't tend to go around making unbased claims to people I don't know.

The Qloader is a good system. Half the time its human error. I happen to know a few guys who work for the company. and they are really helpfull. They have given us spare parts at no charge.

So, loaded from underneath using air power? Sure. AT-85. http://www.getrealpaintball.com/

Or do you mean pressurize a tube and use it to force the paint up? Big problem. Only the first paintball is recieving the air pressure used to force feed, and with more balls in the "stack", the greater the pressure would need to be to move them all. Either the first (bottom) paintball would break, or the pressure would deform it to the point where friction would halt any movement.

Also, how would the paint stack stay in position while the bolt loads the top round? Without constant pressure, the balls would just roll back down the tube or what have you.
