OK, I have had my A5 with WAS Egrip (already installed) since MAY. I have played 3 games with it. I usually use compressed air, but have used CO2 also. OK. So when I am praticing, I haven't had ANY problems with the full auto-3 round burst-reaction settings at all.

Till today! I finally got to use the full auto modes in a game. Well I was using CO2 and the damn gun would NOT stop firing! It would fire for 10 seconds and chop balls! It did this in every mode other then semi auto! My brother has the exact setup as me and he had no problems. My gun is on the STOCK settings, because I can't get the thing to go into setup mode! SO I know the debounce and dwell are stock!

What should I do? Just be done with it and get the APE?

Well, switching to the APE board is definitely the easiest and most common way to fix your problem but there may be a way to get the WAS board working. If it comes down to sending the gun in, I'd say you're better off getting the new board. A lot of people sent their WAS boards in and still had trouble when they got them back. I'm not sure what the problem is with these boards but they definitely are not as good as the APE board. I'm thinking that they either have a defective part or something got funked in the programming somehow because it seems like everybody has this problem and no settings will fix it.

Check the polarity of your grip.  It might be set for a 98.  If that doesn't help, return the grip if you can (or sell it) and buy a preinstalled (APE) Rampage board here.

Is the APE hard to install? I went ahead and ordered one, but it is the type I have to put into the grip myself. The ones already installed are on backorder. Is this a difficult installation? It says no soldering.

It shouldn't be for a 98, cause I used the gun a ton target practicing in the various modes. Unless the gun will flip polarities on its own?

If you bought one with the solenoid then no, very easy; it's just a drop in.  If you changed the battery it's possible that it could reset to a default polarity (i.e. 98).

I had to post, sense this is exactly what is happening to my A5.

I have the W.A.S board on my A5, for about the last 3-4 games I took her to, if it was on any setting besides semi auto, the second you pull the trigger the gun starts to shoot all over the place, you take your finger off the trigger, it continues, I have to grab the front cocking handle to stop it from firing, then if you touch the trigger again same thing happens, so now my A5 is set on semi auto, the only way you can safely control it, I have reset the internal settings for the grip, but maybe something just isen't resetting like the debounce, and I sent it to my local store, they said they had to send it to Tippmann, they did I got it back, still happening, I'm going to break her down all the way tonight, and see if I can find the problem, I was just asking because, I noticed a few other people with the same exact problem, so there has to be a reason?

I'm wondering if the board somehow ignores debounce settings in any other mode than semi? I read somwhere that w.a.s was questioned about this on some of the other tourney boards they had out.

Glad to see I am not the only one with this problem. I tested it again today after taking it apart, and it still did it. I should get my APE board this week, and I will just swap it in, with no other changes and will see if it continues.

I'm pretty much convinced that WAS is selling a defective product since there is seemingly no explanation for the problems these things almost always have. Maybe they got a bad batch of chips or the code got corrupted somehow. It sucks though, so many people got screwed out of their money, I wish tippmann would just start chucking the Rampage board in there instead.

Yea, I don't see how in the hell they can just keep trying to replace these, I've yet to hear of anybody that got one replaced and got better results. Does Tippmann ever take a look at any of these threads?

Tippmann doesn't care what is said in these forums. Only a few people on here work for Tippmann but they have no power to suggest anything.
