How often should I take apart My A5

   Hi All..

just a quick question, I just got rid of my 98C and set myself up with a 

nice A5. 

i was just curious how often I should be taking this marker apart and 

cleaning it?

I play an average of once a week for about 4 or 5 hours. And the odd 

outdoor senerio all day game.

With my 98 it seemed I had to clean it and strip it down too often. To 

keep it working properly and everytime I took it apart and put it back 

together it never ran the same as before. (I'm sure thats partially my fault 

as well) 

I went with the A5 cuz it looked very simple to disassemble, clean and 

maintain. I'm hoping I

don't have to take it apart as often as I did with my 98C.

Any help or comments is greatly appreciated.

	Dis assemble, clean and lubricate my markers before and after every day of play. However you don't have to disassemble that much. I would suggest that after every day of play, you disassemble clean and oil the marker as PM. Doing regular PMs on any piece of gear is a good idea as it prevents you from to replace parts down the road because they broke when they were not properly taken care of.

	Thanks for the tips So with the A5 would that incluse taking apart the trigger assembly? I really never had too much luck with that part with my 98C With the A5 the trigger assemble stays seperate correct? I can just clean the tube and stuff without actully messing with the trigger correct? Basically my main concern is taking a Marker that works.. disassembling it cleaning and oiling it putting it back together and then it not working or not working as well as It did before I cleaned it. I'm pretty new to paintball so I am not Over confident about my Matience skills. Thats actully why I choose the A5 I herd its easy top clean and doesn't have many springs etc. unlike the 98C I understand cleaning and oiling is extreamly important. 	All you should have to do for regualr PM is to a quick strip, basically only taking it down by the quick strip pins. The only time I would suggest tkaing the trigger assembly apart would be if you took a round to the grip frame and got paint up inside the trigger assembly. But this happens very seldon, and even if it does the A-5 trigger assembly is mounted so you can just pop the ting out, inside of messing with all kinds of different parts like the 98.

	Welcome to the forum and congrats on the A5 purchase. A5s are fantastic markers because of their simplicity. Many times at a field, friends of mine cant play half way through the game because this or that isnt working. Not with an A5. To clean is a breeze and essentially the marker never has to be taken apart if you maitain it. 	thanks for the link.. yeah I picked the A5 over other similiar priced markers (the ION,Autococker) because It had no electronics, that alone would be a pain If that messed up in the middle of the day. As well I had read the simplicity of the design. I was happy wityh my 98C except the maintinence stuff. I read that the A5 was basically a better more upgraded version on the 98C I am nothing but happy with my A5 I have had it for about 3 months and I have never touced it besides putting some oil into the Gas line which I read will lube most of the parts in the marker. Thanks for all the help guys and Gals... Tippmann Does a BAngup job here. They will be getting pretty much all my paintball business. kd_special
