    Posted: 22 November 2007 at 5:44pm

Well, I was planning on using a Warp Feed, but that doesnt seem to work. I have a few questions.

1. How do they work? Vaccum feed? Mech feed? Electronic? Pneu? Spring fed?

2. I am planning on putting this into a bullpup marker Im building. I am putting this in the middle, then feeding the paint through the supplied tube and in through the bottom of a custom made mag body threaded for 98's. Are there any issues that you can forsee with my plans?

3. How much would a rig like this run me? Is http://www.qloader.com/500rnd.html this all I need? I thought Q-loaders were more expensive.

Any reason why? What Im planning to do is put this thing in the middle of my Bullpup Mag. Its empty space that I cant get rid of if I tried, so why not throw a q-loader there?

They are a pain to reload, swapping pods is alot slower than just filling a hopper, once you are out of ammo in the pod, there are about 20 rounds that are stuck in the feed tube and will not feed until you put a new q pod in.

I bought the 2 pods setup for speedtest reasons. There's a reason (or reasons) why you haven't seen any videos of mine in action.

  1. Build quality is horrid all around. The pods themselves are actually five pieces: outer shell, inner shell, drive spring, drive screw, and the piece that keeps the drive screw straight and the spring in place. The last part I mentioned is supposed to come off so you can remove the drive screw so you can clean the inside of the inner shell, but it WILL NOT COME OFF unless you don't mind breaking the inner shell to get it off. Horrid design, because if you jam a ball, the jam renders the whole stack of paint immobile until you grab the base of the drive screw with a pair of channel locks and literally crank the drive screw to forcibly dislodge (aka, break) the offending ball. It is an ungodly poor design. If you break paint in there for whatever reason, it is impossible to clean the pods out because you can't get at where the paint is because that damn aformentioned piece does not come off like they say in the manual.
  2. The Q-loader logo on the outer shell rubs off as soon as it gets wet.
  3. When you have the Q-pod loaded and you screw it into the female cylindrical piece that's on the gun, the force on the stack is let out before you are able to screw it in enough to make the outlet hole from the q-pod and the inlet hole to the tube line up, so the first ball is RAMMED against the inside of that female piece, which guarantees a break unless you're shooting thick-ass paint. Unbelievable!
  4. The process of loading the paint into the Q-pods is retarded. Do yourself a favor; use a Halo to feed the paint into the Q-pod. Fill the included hopper/loader thing with kerosene and throw it off a cliff.
  5. There's ball latches in the female q-pod receiver that prevents the paint in the tube from rolling out when you remove a pod. That's great, but if you remove the tube from that end you're guaranteed to rip it out, where it's guaranteed to get lost and it is a royal PITA to put back in.

There's a lot of things here that will only make sense to someone who has experience with them, but let me say this: if you don't have to use a Q, don't. They are a bigger pain in the ass than I ever could have even begun to imagaine, and I'm glad I only bought this stupid thing for novelty purposes.

I bought one but never recieved it.

I was obviously dissatisfied.

From what I hear, you either hate it or you love it.

I think I may get one. I really dont have many other choices, and the cool factor, as well as usefulness factor, is going to be through the roof.

Some guy took a halo and found that it could feed a bit upward.

Why not try to do the same thing? At least you know it will be reliable.

Or design a magazine feed that is better than the qloader one.

How can a Halo feed upward? It still relies on gravity somewhat. As for the magazine feed, that is going to be extremely tedious. I would use a warp feed before my own ghetto magazine.

I believe that it wil feed fast enough to force the balls upwards.

Mags are easy, ever see an airsoft one?

Airsoft mags hold like 30 of those little bbs, so wouldnt you only be able to hold like 10 paintballs in each giant mag? And dont dare say hi-cap pb mag. O:
