hi guys, this is my first post. I have been outta the game for a while and am trying to get back in. i have a ? regarding how to make a high press tank work with my gun. any advice would be great. I have a 98 custom. i have a high pressure air tank made by nitro duck. it has a double gauge reg on it, and a macro line swiveling 90* fitting on it. the top of the reg has a nozzle that can be opened in order to release the air. I am not sure if this is common or not becuase i have generally used CO2, and the only high pressure tank i had screwed directly into my gun using the ASA. the tank i have now is huge, and i might use it with a remote line. 1) IS THERE AN ADAPTER THAT I CAN RUN TO HOOK UP A MACRO LINE TO AN ASA, OR DO I SIMPLY NEED A LOW PRESSURE SET UP FOR MY 98? 2) COULD I SIMPLY SWAP MY REG OUT TO HOOK THIS UP TO MY GUN DIRECTLY? IS MY REG TOO OLD?
as you can see from the pics, this tank is huge, so i am not sure if a drop forward would even work. and with my current set up i have a foregrip horizontal drop forward. it nicely distributes the weight of the tank, and i would really like to just screw in this beast of a tank to it. thanks for the help.

All you should need to mount the tank is a straight MarcoLine fitting to put into your existing reg, and a piece of macroline. The tank should have holes in the reg to attach to your marker here the ASA used to be. If the holes don't line up, they sell adapter blocks.

Car Guy!
That's an old Nitroduck dual regulated Tuff-Skin bottle. They're tanks and the second most reliable system to an Air America Armageddon. The only problem with them is that you need a cradle mount for your marker as they don't have a dove-tail slot integrated into the reg itself. I highly suggest a light-weight but sturdy cradle system with a lot of drop and forward throw like the KAPP Drop-Zone II $39 buy it now on e-bay. I used them almost exclusively in the early days of HPA and never had any issues with them. They give you multiple positions and you can adjust how far forward or rearward the cradle sits. That nozzle at the front that "turns the airflow on/off" is actually the reg adjustment dial. It will set the reg to whatever output flow you want. You can either run it through your x-chamber, or remove the X-chamber and run it directly to your vertical adapter if you want. It's a solid system and those tanks are darn-near indestructible. Edit: Yes you can swap out the regs, but you would loose the ability to fine-tune the input pressure which is what gives you more consistency, accuracy, and efficiency. thanks for the replies. this tank was made in '99 but was just tested, and checked good thru 2010. as you can see from my equipment, i havn't been in for a while. basically i had a group of friends who were all into it, and we had a blast. then a bunch of stuff was stolen, and people where pretty ticked off, nobody wanted to play, etc.... so about the adjustable nozzle. how would i fine tune that? with a chrono? the straight macro line fitting, would that simply screw into the ASA and have a macroline running into it? does anyone have a pic of the macroline adapter block, i have done a google, and ebay search with no luck. thanks again. |

what you need is the remote-line round reducer that goes into the ASA of a paintball marker. Remove the line/quick release nipple from it and then replace it with a macro-line fitting.
As for adjustment of the reg. Back the velocity screw out so it is flush with the exterior of the marker. Then use the reg adjustment to bring the velocity of the marker up or down as needed at the chrono. |

okay, so a remote line would go from my guns ASA to the tank, which would be strapped to my back. then i would have a macroline fitting screwed into the end of the remote line, then the fittings on the tank would hook to the macro line. that way i wouldn't need a craddle, and my gun wouldn't be so big. I used a remote line in the past, and i didn't like it becuase it seemed to leak around the fittings. any brand you guys would recommend? |

I think this is the one I have and it doesnt leak at all. You definetely want to get the slide check though. it allows you to stop the air from going to the marker and remove the quick disconnect without turning off the tank itself. It definetely comes in handy in between rounds. |

Actually, you mis-interpreted what I was saying, but it's all good.
Here's what you need:
Just the bit in the red box. That part would screw into either your ASA or your X-Chamber. You'd remove the quick disconnect for the steel braid from it and replace that fitting with a macro-line fitting which would then run (via macro-line) to the macro-line fitting on your hpa tank's output port. Does that clarify it a little better? Edited by tallen702 - 30 November 2007 at 3:57pm |

I may just be dumb, but couldnt he just unscrew the part with the gauges?
Then screw the tank into the asa like normal. Assuming(which is where I might be dumb) that the tank is threaded like the asa under the gauge part plus the fact that its a high pressure tank so he wont have to reg in anyway. |

The tank reg isn't set up that way. It's inverted, the reg threads into the tank, not the other way around. |

Okay, so a remote with the macro line fitting would be all i need. cool. i am in between doing that, or having a drop foward like you suggested earlier. i only play woodsball, i hate spped ball because i am too big. (6'7") and all the bunkers are too short. so with the remote my gun would be light, but i would have to wear a belt, but with a drop forward my gun would be pretty bulky/heavy.....either way i am glad you guys gave me the correct choices. thanks a lot.

I think Tallen means like this:
But it would be a LOT easier (if that's what Tallen actually means) to just take off the vertical adaptor and put a microline adaptor directly into the valve... |

I would suggest using the remote personally. You are probably going to need somekind of harness/vest anyways just for extra ammo.
