velocity issue on a fairly stock CPro.

OK, so.
heres the story. I've had the marker for about 2 years now. For the past couple of months, I haven't been able to get it to chrono over 250 (260 once), and it shoots down horribly (i need to wait about 5 seconds to get a second shot less than 15 FPS lower than the first).

I've tried 3 drive springs, including the red (stiffest) spring from the maddmann kit. ive also replaced the hammer o-ring. neither of these things helped.

I think it might be my air tank. Its output pressure is (at least is labelled as) 850 PSI. So theoretically that should work, but I have a baseless suspicion that the tank/macroline is to blame. Is this possible?

Finally, because I know someone will ask, I do NOT have an RVA, secondary reg, or stock. And I've adjusted the FVA from all the way in, to on the verge of falling out. Nothing made it fire above 250.

Any ideas?

not missing any valve screws are you?

Otherwise, I'm going to guess it's a bottle reg issue.

how old is the tank? I know AA warranties their regs. Replacement should cost no more than $35 from Kee.

i think their out of business though now.

Kee Action Sports is what NPS (National Paintball Supply) used to be. I think they own AA.

i checked the kee website, nothing about AA there.
hmm...

EDIT/UPDATE: I gave the marker an insanely intense internal cleaning () and switched from 3-in-1 oil to a proper marker oil. Because I clean out the internals fairly regularly (every few days of play), I'm fairly certain the oil is what did it.

im amazed how much the change of oil type helped, im shooting more consistently then ever and the velocity is now perfect. When I first chrono'd in it was shooting 300 (on the dot actually...), and i had to bring it DOWN to 250 cause of field rules. it feels great to have screw the FVA IN instead of out in order to get to correct velocity.

just thought I'd let ya know.

Ok, sorry for the almost-month-old-thread bump, but the problem is back. It seems that changing the oil type was only a temporary solution. After a second day of play, it's back down to about 230 (peaking at 240). It was about -5 C at the field, but I'm using HPA. The fact that no one else seemed to have this problem also made me think that temperature was not the issue. So, any other ideas? The velocity screw seemed to have little to no effect at all, from all the way in to hanging out. It also got fairly hard to adjust the screw, it felt like it was digging in to the receiver. I assumed this wasn't the case, as I figure the holes in the receiver for the valve bolts aren't big enough to allow enough play to cause the velocity screw to bite into the receiver.

So I'm back to square one. Any new ideas?

Try this.

(1)Loosen all the screws, retighten just enough to hold. 'Not Tight'

(2)If that's yours in the sig, try it without the Rocket Cock.

I'll try loosening the screws (can't believe I haven't yet ), and I had that idea about the rocket cock but I don't recall it having any effect.
