Howdy, I have never been fond of the traditional placement of the c02 tank, Never one for the big profile of a drop forward, or the tangle of remote lines. I got my inspiration for this simple little mod when looking the older style guns, which used the air tank as a stock.
This was very easy to do, and anyone with a compatible stock should easily be able to do this using parts that you should have. The "Hammock" as I call it, is simply the barrel condom that came with my 98. The string weaving through the spaces in the stock is just the string from the barrel condom. The ASA is just the stock ASA with a bit hacksawed off. Yes it does have a bit of movement too it, but you don't notice it at all, it is secure, no way it will fall out, and it wont wobble at all when it is tightly tucked into your shoulder. The tank I am using is a a 9 oz, this mod might work with a 12 oz, but that would depend on the width of your barrel condom, and the length of you stock. cheers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quick easy mod that some of you may be interested in |

That's pretty unique. I kind of like it. I know you say it's sturdy, but it really seems like it might wobble and maybe even come loose eventually.

It is also basically impossible though for the tank to slide out of the hammock, as the ASA will just hit the back of the gun and stop it form moving. You have to disconnect the tank, move the ASA out of the way, then slide the tank out of the hammock to get it out. As for it coming loose, yeah that would be entirely possible, but that would also depend on your knot tying skills, I am currently trying to think of some way to incorporate Velcro into my idea as well. I am also yet to actually play with this set-up though. I'm not going to lie things could be completely different out in the field, but it's an idea. |

thats a cool idea, but can your stock take the weight from the tank? you can try and make a bracket that bolts off the 2 back screws of the gun for the asa? but still cool idea and hope it lasts for you. Edited by kurieitaa - 10 January 2008 at 4:54pm |

Rap4 actually came out with something similar for a stock where the tank actually sits inside the stock. You may be able to look at it and copy the idea. It would make it sturdier too. |
