so i went to www.ratemyprofessor.com at the beginning of the semester to see how a teacher ranked. he had one good review. turns out it had to be the teacher rating himself. I put my own rating in and a few days later there was a 3rd rating again it sounds like the teacher.
i have been asking around to any student that is it my area of study and the 1st thing that say is "dont take him" anyways... anyone else use the site? |

I've used it before for one of my terrorist professors at DePaul last quarter. If you feel like reading a bunch of reviews about a neo-nazi look up Deena Weinsteen

That's a nice site. A few of my recent professors are on there and have deservedly good reviews.

I definitely used it when I was in college, there were a number of teachers I had that were damn good ones and we made sure their reports reflected that too.

I used to use it for general classes, but once I got higher into my degree I lost the ability to choose the time or the teacher.

About the the guy that teaches Chocolate and Cake in my school. My current teacher.
"Hot, yes. Acts like a Frenchman (arrogant), but when I spoke French to him, he didnt understand. I speak fluently and have experience with his type, but I'm actually suspicious about whether he really is French." His name is Jean-Louis Lagalle..... |

I tend to use it as a reference but rarely go fully by it.
Chances are, if a professor teaches a hard class, they are going to get bad reviews from idiot brodudes who just want to get by easy. |

I tend to ask upperclassmen in my program about professors. I may try ratemyprofessor.com when I schedule for fall semester next week.

Word. The coolest and one of the smartest professors I know gets some pretty bad reviews because they didn't understand the concept of his philosophy or religion class, and because they were expecting an easy social learning class but actually had to work hard at it. I do the same thing as Whale; I'll use it to reference a professor, but it's not my main deciding point. |

I use to use it all the time for my gen eds and prerequisite classes. But now that I am a senior I pretty much just rely on word of mouth from other students.
