My X7 has had a chopping problem ever since I bought it. It is stock, I use mid-grade paint and have a HPA tank on it. Almost consistantly it chops every fifth ball regardless of how fast it is fired. I have noticed it chops less around 240 fps, but it chops. Any help?

Are you using brittle paint? Old paint?
Is it cold out, are you using CO2? |

Paint made after about 1993 does not need to be rotated. There used to be a problem with the pigments settling, which caused the ball to wobble.
I missed the HPA part. Where is the paint breaking? In the barrel, breech, or cyclone? |

I rotate my paint to keep it from dimpling.

It is confusing whrere my paintball breaks. I see it inside the barrel, but then comes out broken. I have paint in the barrel and inside the cyclone feeder. People say it is the weather, but last month when i played I see people using my same gun. And it is working perfectly.
What part is the breach? |

You made a new profile?
If there is paint inside your cyclone then thats is whats most likely your problem. Check for rough edges on the blades, and give the piston a good cleaning. |

No, I have no clue who that is. It is breaking inside the cyclone, which proceeds to gum up the bolt.

Found out the problem. I took my cyclone feed apart and found that the plastic ratchet was badly cracked. I'v replaced it with a spare ratchet, do ya'll think ordering the Mad-dog aluminum ratchet is worth it?

If not the MadDog any aluminum ratchet will make it so you never have to worry about it again. Vortex, New Designz, Lapco (new and uses allen wrench instead of pens but not sure how well that would stay) and the JCS (you do not have to cut the spring and you can find them for 25 on ebay including shipping)

you might want to make sure the bottom plate screws in the cyclone are
not screwed in all the way. Over Tightnening the screws will
protrude into the cyclone and cut your paint.
I used a file and filed down the points... ![]() |
