ok so im thinking about getting a quieter gun and ive heard that Matrix's are really quiet, especially older ones, so there a couple DM3s floating around on ebay, are those pretty quiet?

my cocker is pretty quiet. I am not sure on some of the higher end markers since I havent used them.

My Sniper is relatively quiet. I've heard that DMLCD's are quiet guns, but have no experience with them.

id liek to know from personal experiences which guns are quieter than others, id just like a really quiet gun, in all honesty i just get sick of hearing my own gun sometimes and would like a quiet one when i get sick of the 98

Autocker Trilogy Tactical (or any other cocker). As I said from personal experience I put a 14" barrel and a delrin bolt in then boom... or should I say lack of boom. Quiet and smooth with absolutely no kick.

im not looking for less recoil, im looking for a quiet gun and trying to get the pros to help out a little bit, so far ive got one recommendation of a Cocker, but still no answer about the older Matrixs

Well the barrel helps a lot in quieting the gun. Gun with a blow back system will be a little louder but the barrel makes a big different.
Do you have a ported barrel? The ported barrels release the excess gas from the barrel and quiet the shot. You just have to know that where the barrel is ported it limits the effective range of the gun. If you take a 14inch barrel with 4 inches of porting the effective length of the gun is 10 inches because the last four inches dont let the gas push the ball. It should be ok as long as the effective length is at least 8 inches. I've heard that hammerhead barrels are really quiet, but they're a bit expensive. Edited by Stopwatch - 11 April 2008 at 1:03pm |

i know what barrel to get for it, im up to date with that aspect of it and i have a HAMMERHEAD and yes they quiet your gun, although the 98 i have it on is still quite loud, as well as being fairly expensive they do thier job. It gets the cheap paint to fly straight, that was my main concern, being quiet was lower on the list of needs in a barrel until i got to thinking about a quiet gun, now....
the GUN is the main issue im having right now so i would like someone who has had GUN experience to tell me (first hand preferably) which guns are quieter than others Edited by Ace_Of_Spades - 11 April 2008 at 3:33pm |
