I have heard all the other people saying how accurate there alpha is. I have tested my alpha and it tended to only hit what i was aiming for half
the time at most. I haven't done much research but im pretty sure has to do with either the barrel or that I use a CO2 tank and not an air tank. Are there any barrels that are specifically made for the gun yet that would help it or is it the tank making me inaccurate. Edited by Headshot789 - 11 May 2008 at 10:09pm |

If this is your first marker; the effective range of a properly chronographed paintball marker is less than you'd expect.

Hate to seem like an arse, but it's honestly not that difficult to read a title of a subforum, and accurately deduce what kind of post should go there... |

Well, I'll let you off the hook. You give people too much credit. Now who seems like an arse? |

To take a crack at the questions: 1. The stock barrel of the AB isn't that great. No, there aren't any barrels made for it specifically yet, although any barrel with 98 threads will work. Be careful though, some of them won't fit correctly in the hand guard (A J&J ceramic is a good barrel, narrow for the guard though, I fixed that with some electrical tape, you can't even tell. 2. Co2 will have different consistency than compressed air due to all kinds of things such as the temperature. A compressed air tank will find you if not more accurate, at the very least, more consistent. Properly chronographed, you should be shooting around 270-280 fps. You won't be driving any nails at 100 yards with the thing, but a proper barrel upgrade and more consistent air source will help you out for effective range accuracy. |

I haven't had any problems with accuracy on my AB yet...but I use Nitro instead of Co2. If your goal is to shoot bettter id reccomend an N2o Tank, the NEW quick attach flatline, and practice, practice, practice. You may also want a remote coil or an low pressure kit.

By "Nitro" he means compressed air. They're basically the same thing now. Find you a good HPA tank if you're willing to spend the money. If not, a remote kit seems to work as an expansion chamber, to help make the CO2 more consistent. |

Apparently about as difficult as it is to read through the old thread and/or use the search button to find the 20+ other threads on this exact same topic. |
