I am talking looks alone.  Specifically a 12" J&J vs an 8: Lapco on a Procarbine.  I know both perform well and I like both barrels but i need some help in my decision.  Again this is for these two barrels only and mainly based on looks.

I think the Lapco would look better but you may have to modify the front of the Pro-Carbine forearm grip to use it.  The widened muzzle of the 8" Lapco prevents it from being inserted far enough for the barrel threads to engage the body.*

*At least this happened on my F/A, which sports a modified Pro-Carbine forearm grip, when I just tested my 8" Lapco on it.

^That's the only problem I could think of with the 8" LAPCO. I agree with Mack that it would look better.

thats what i was thinking... i bought the 12" yesteray and I am just not feeling the look of it.  i may turn around and sell it on ebay for the same cost to me.  I would prolly even take a loss for it.  as far as modifying the foregrip would a dremel work ok or is there a better tool for it?

You could probably do it with one of the more heavy-duty Dremels.  But that's a tough decision to make, at least for me; mainly because I hate to alter parts that I might not be able to easily replace.

You bought a 12' Lapco or 12" J&J? Do these have the same threads as an A-5?

Ok, took me three reads to get it. Too much sawdust in my eyes.

lol I have a 12" J&J sitting here and an 8" Lapco on the way.  The 12" will prolly go to my cuz for xmas.  He still has the stock barrel on his X7 so it will be a good upgrade for it.
