I should elaborate.

Scopes tend to give you tunnel vision. While you are looking through them, that's all you see. It makes it very easy for opponents to get around you or flank you. Also, paintballs are inherently inaccurate. They are fairly light, round projectiles travelling through a smooth-bore barrel. No matter how nice your barrel is, or how your gun shoots, a paintball will never be accurate enough at ranges to effectively use a scope. Just not needed.

Also, lights and lasers are generally a waste too. I say generally, because some people do play scenarios and are quite committed to it. At night, a flashlight or laser attachment my be beneficial, but for normal play, all they do is add weight. Also, some fields may not allow lasers for the risk of eye damage.
