I am a Military member stationed in Okinawa japan. I have used my E-grip for 3 weeks. I ran into a issue today. My grip on all setting but semi. It will fire full auto after a few shots. I even had to put safety on to stop it and sometimes that wont stop it either. I have sent a email to customer service but I do not know what else to do. This grip was a early x-mas present from my family in the states.
PLease help.... |

Hello Twist and welcome to the forum. When you are pulling back on the trigger are you doing a full pull or just pulling quick and releasing? I found on mine that it works better when you do a full pull. If/when it goes into full auto like you are explaining, try holding back the trigger all the way. I know this seems counterintuitive to what your normal reaction is, but try it and see if it works.

From what I've read, this is a VERY common problem with the A5 W.A.S egrip and how you pull the trigger really has nothing to do with the problem nor should it.... The switch in the egrip is not working correctly. What say you Tippman. How can this be fixed???

Just so you are aware, Tippmann reps do not participate in the forum, nor do they answer questions here. It is all member run. If you have a question for Tippmann, you should contact them from their main page, under customer service. This forum is to ask other members for their help. And in MY experience, yes how you pull the trigger does matter. When I put my A5 in 3 shot burst or full auto mode and "tickle" the trigger, it will send to go into full auto. If I make full trigger pulls, it works fine. Also, when the trigger does go into full auto, if I hold the trigger back for a second, it will stop it. If your experience has been different, please share how you have solved the issue.

No it has nothing to do with my trigger pulls it just started acting up.
In fact I took off the trigger to check it out and it does the same thing detatched from the gun, of course I have you press on the arm for it to engage, but after a few pulls it goes full auto. The big deal abotu it is even when the safety is applied on it still fires, and that is WAY unsafe. I have written customer service but i got a confirmation they recieved then today I got an email saying the email could not be recieved. |

This is how I normally solve the problem too. Other than that I have never had a problem though. |

I had this problem with my A5 e-grip, the problem was that the battery had squised the power cables so they short sircuited. The marker worked in semy, but full autofired in all the other modes. I sendt an e-mail to tippmann and they sent me a new was bord TO NORWAY for free.... came with UPS service 3days later!! WOW The problem is you have to be wery careful when inserting new batteries as they may damage the power cables. |

You may want to call them. Tippmann customer service is typically exceptional and often times they will fix problems for free. |
