Phenom or standard firing. The phenom is the first Tippmann gun ever to be made for rapid fire. The others are capable but not good.
That being said, I would go with the 98. They are virtually indestructible and shoot just as well as the A5 and X7 basic. I left my 98 in the woods for a week last summer. There was ants living in it. I gassed it up and shot it and it worked just fine.

X7 Phenom! hands down, I got one as soon as I could. Love it, everything you have ever wanted from your marker. Its very accurate, easy to clean, if the board goes dead, no problem, switch to manual mode. doesn't use a whole lot of air, its just great all around.

If you are thinking about getting a 98 with Cyclone, then go with the A-5. Easier to maintain, comes with the Cyclone, and will run about the same money in the end. If you have the budget, get the Phenom |

Wow, I can't believe you brought back a thread that was dead for 16 months just to respond to a post in it that was 18 months old.
