ok so i have a tippmann 98 custom platinum series marker. for a little while it was stuttering when i shot it and so finally me and my uncle to it apart. we fixed the stuttering problem and it has no leaks we can hear so we test fired a whole hopper with the air tank full at 3000psi. It went through the whole tank.My uncle and i think it is blowing through a lot more air then it should. can someone help.

What is the size of your HPA tank (Cubic Inches) and how many shots are you getting from it?

3000 is not the Size of the Tank, thats the Input Air Pressure inside the Tank, Tank Sizes varies from 13ci to 114ci.
Heres and example, I have a Crossfire 68/4500, 68 is the size of the tank, the 4500 is the Air Pressure that was put into the tank. |

Then what you have is a Pure Energy 48/3000 HPA Tank and thats a small tank and it can yeild around 500 shots, which is the reason why your 98 is Stuttering...in other words, youre shooting too much, thus emptying the tank quickly.
Click on the Link below to help you understand more about the Sizes of HPA Tanks and how many each one can yeild. http://www.scubatoys.com/store/Paintball/Air_Systems/whichtank.asp One more thing, Tippmann Markers are known not to be Air Efficient (except the X7 Phenom) like Speedball Tournament Markers.
