New Tippman A5 vs Project Salvo

After hearing about the New A5 coming out, I am wondering which would be better for Woodball.

The salvo has everything I want (laid out) except the Cyclone that comes with the A5.

The A5 (I am told) should more accurate, longer, and it come with the cyclone.

I am planning to invest $250 total in the gun, so should I buy the salvo at 150 and upgrade with the barrel and cyclone or should I buy the A5 and upgrade the shroud, magazine, and barrel to make it look like the salvo.

The Salvo can take a Cyclone Feed.  If it has everything else you want I would get it and add the feeder.

  • Most markers, with the stock barrels, are equally accurate.  If the new A5 has a stock barrel similar to that of the Custom Pro (which are decent barrels) it will probably be more accurate than the old A5 or the U.S. Army markers.  That said, a new barrel is generally every players first purchase for a new marker so this isn't that big of a factor.
  • Length has nothing to do with performance.
