Hello I am having problems with my RT auto firing after one pull with my finger even off the trigger.  I have tinkered with the adjustment screw over and over with no luck of fix.  This problem didn't seem to occur until i put my new techt cyclone upgrade on.  I have taken the marker apart numerous times with no results (to clean, lube, and fix any bad/broken o-rings).  Also at the high rate of fire i get many ball breaks, not sure if its in the cyclone or at the bolt but taken this thing apart over and over to clean is becoming a real pain.  Any help appreciated.

Forgot to mention its an A-5

Two things:
  • Try a stronger sear spring
    • The old 98 custom R/T kits used to come with a heavier duty sear spring so that the sear could reset quicker than the R/T reset the trigger.
    • I had the same problem with an A5 I put an R/T on and knowing the above I made myself a new sear spring out of a pen spring (cut longer/heavier)--it solved the problem
  • Also check the sear for damage
    • If it has been not catching completely  it is a good probability that the edge will be damaged which just makes the problem worse
    • Minor damage can be repaired with a Dremel or file

I have just changed the trigger spring with a more tense one and put a brand new sear in and it is definitely better but i still have a strange jumpiness not every shot but occasionally it spits out two consecutive shots then continues as normal.  Any thought on whats causing this strange jumpiness?

Not the trigger spring--the sear spring.

Hi there Mac,

I know its more than a year that has passed, however, I have a A5, installed a R/T with a fang trigger, the R/T worked wonders, I then decided to take off the fang trigger and replace the standard trigger as I couldn't get the hang of two finger firring, right after that I had continious problems with rapid auto firring, I replaced all the O Rings, twice, checked for leaks did the whole shebang, then I came to the Tippmann Forum to see if I could see someone with the same problem, I was about to give up after the page of your advise, I took the Red bolt spring, cut it a bit longer than the Fang springsand installed it, I now have to wait for dayreak to test it, if that was the problem, BIG UP TO YOU BUDDY, you solved my problem, if not I'll have to keep on searching

I'll keep you posted

Regards
DZLBig smile
