Well first off congratulations on picking a fine starter marker.  The Carver one has a lot of upgrading options, to begin with:
Barrels
There are three main kinds of barrels: Smooth bore, Rifled, and Specialty
Smooth bore barrels are just that smooth bored barrels whose slick interior helps reduce friction and stress on balls allowing them to shoot using less air power, fly straighter and farther.  In this category I recommend the J&J barrels in 98 thread and the Lapco Bigshot barrels in 98 thread.
Rifled barrels have riflings that in a perfect world (with perfect paint) would spin the paintball giving it more accuracy.  Unfortunately paintballs are not perfectly round and unless you want to use expensive paint I would stay away from rifled barrels to begin with.  However I have known many people who SWEAR by their hammerhead barrels (and I am sure someone below me will talk about them later)
Specialty barrels include the flatline and the apex.  unfortunately without modifications the carver can't fit a flatline.  however you can fit on the new 98 threaded APEX 2.  which can in fact allow you to curve your shots by adding backspin to your shots (you have to use a harder paint in all specialty barrels so no evil in your apex) you can even fit the apex onto your lapco or J&J barrel if you get the apex ready, or assault tip style.
Loader
for a loader going electric off the bat is not that important, I would recommend the Proto Primo Loader, it has a shelf that helps to keep a solid stack using the blowback from the marker.
trigger
with the carver you can upgrade to an e-trigger later if you want using the same upgrade kit as the alpha black, carver one e-trigger.

I hope I have answered your questions and got you started upgrading, the best of luck to you and welcome to tippmann!

No to the red highlighted part. Stick with the stock internals. Do not waste your time and money on "upgraded" springs,  powertubes, bolts etc. There is little if any significant advantage to replacing these parts with aftermarket ones, and in some cases they can actually decrease the performance of the marker, not increase it.

My biggest advice is to get out and play prior to making significant upgrades other than perhaps a new barrel. Too many times people dump tons of money into a perfectly good marker only to realize that they really don't need all the add ons to enjoy the hobby. KISS is a pretty good motto when it comes to paintball.

Yeah I would definutly recommend the Bigshot! I actually have a 14in w/ apex 2 on my a5.  are you sure you are getting a 12in? for some reason lapco doesn't make a 12in apex ready only 14in.  if you want to put an apex on the big shot you will need to have either the apex ready tip or the assault tip with an apex tip.  to fit it on

Yeah. You will have no problem fitting the bigshot into your carver one. Lapco barrels are a similar diameter to the stock A-5/X7 which is smaller than the carver barrel. You will be fine

hey so delayed the order on my bigshot, went and bought an Apex 2 Tip and i was wondering if i should get the 8" bigshot apex ready instead cause i was reading that after having 8' on your barrel the rest does nothing to the ball while its in the barrel cause once the ball has moved 6-8" any more length does nothing to keep the ball strieght its only the backspin that will do that, and my gun is kinda long with a stock so im wondering if i should just get the 8" barrel so my gun is shorter cause there is not point in a longer barrel.
