I just installed an e-grip on my new tippman a5. In the process, i either lost, or failed to notice that it had been lost earlier, my velocity adjustment screw for the a5. Now, i've attempted to fire the gun, and the egrip is obviously activating, and after manually cocking, and firing, the marker activates with a dull thud, and doesn't reset. My question is this. Is the lack of velocity adjuster causing this problem? Or do i have a problem with how i installed the egrip? Or a problem with how i put the working parts back in? I'm waiting on a parts kit for a new velocity adj screw, but im wondering if i can just block the hole with another screw just to see if that the problem, or if i have something else i should be fixing while i wait. Anyone encounter this problem before?

Ok. I figured out the problem. The only question now remains is that if it's possible to replace the velocity screw with something else while im waiting, or if it's a specialized screw.

It is a standard thread size. You should be able to get one at a hardware store.
They are available in stainless steel and in longer lengths as well. |
