I currently use a BT-4 and am thinking about an upgrade. I have heard good things about the X7 Phenom with respect to accuracy/consistency. My understanding is that it confers the accuracy advantages of an elecropneumatic (more consistent, right? If that is wrong please correct me). However, I don't really care about/want full auto. I just learned about the mechanical version and have a few questions.

-Am I correct in the assumption that it is basically an electropneumatic without the electro part? So it is an X7 without an E-grip? Shoots the same way, minus full auto modes?

-If so, that means it isn't just an inline blowback, right? And it will give me the aforementioned advantages?

-In your opinion, would I see a noticeable increase in accuracy over my current inline blowback?

Thanks!

Just a quick addition to clarify: I am not interested in full auto because it gets expensive on paint and the fields around me won't allow it anyhow. My sole question is:

Does an X7 Phenom Mechanical shoot as well as an X7 Phenom Electro? And if so, will I notice a difference stepping up to a phenom from a Bt-4?

If you look at the schematic for the x7 found here

http://www.playmore-paintball.com/schematics/X7_Parts.jpg

You'll see that it is a sear tripper with the same valve design that you typically find in a Tippmann and as a result you'll get  the great accuracy and consistancy that you've come to expect from all Tippmann guns.

also the mech version of the phenom wich i own is great

when you get the egripped version even if your battery dies it goes back to mechanical
so you get the best with both worlds
also the grip is not just ment for full auto there is also burst mod which is pretty good

My home field is Semi only. I get better strings out of the electro mode semi than the mechanical.
