So i have been working on this one for so long i felt the need to ask online. My 98 custom can almost never get above 260fps and loves to just bounce around and down to 130 for no reason. I have taken it in to a certified pb gun tech a few times and we still cant get it working where its worth using
I can tell you right away the issue is not with the air works just fine on my other guns. i have replaced the spring which got it up from 240 to 260(at best) but the inconsistency is still insane. the velocity screw when moved also doesn't do what you would think and raise the fps one way and lower the other. it will drop the velocity fast both directions if its not somewhere in the middle. Please help! |

Have you tried to replace you valve? Also consider Polishing you 98's internals. This help for a more smooth movement of the bolts and increase efficacy. Also always make sure that you marker is properly lubed. Do not use the cheap lubricant. Try the Tippmann grease

I would take the valve and powertube assembly out of the marker & check all sides for a crack in the powertube. Also are the two valve retaining screws on the right side of the receiver tight? What is the output pressure on your tank? You need at least 800 psi to operate a 98 Custom. Let us know how it goes.

As far as I know this is common issue with these aftermarket kits. Contact RAP4/TACAMO for tech help.
