is there any information regarding your studies that is publicly available? I think that what you're looking into parallels my interests. |

The overabundance of shared 'facts' and 'news' is one of the reasons I absolutely do not miss facebook one single iota.

Hey! It's pretty cool. I'm working on some basic stuff this fall to recharge my batteries, but in the spring I have some cool stuff lined up to test social media consumption and values of news literacy in people aged 18-21. My dissertation (Which I don't think I talked about on here much) found that people who tend to use the "Share" button on Facebook at a high amount are just as likely to "Share" a link to a piece of true information as a link to a piece of false information or a rumor. It's not everyone, just people who my study found to be "Power Endorsers" of information, tend to value sharing large amounts of content over being seen as factually correct -- and that those people could potentially be the cause of wide-spread health rumors on Facebook. I also got some grant money and I'm working with a cohort of public health and physiologist researchers to find out what works best when building social media messages to promote good adolescent health. |

My sinuses are killing me to death.
Also I got research accepted to the PCA/ACA National Conference. It's in New Orleans this year. Which is a place.

It's being done by guys at the county level now, so it isn't unheard of. Write off or not, I'd better get going before the rumored phase 2 of the NY safe act is rolled out now that Prince Andy got reelected. |

I'm certified to carry every weapon I own on duty, and don't hunt with any of them. All my ammo is exclusively for training purposes.
Besides, I still don't spend enough on equipment to surpass the base deductions for my bracket, so it's really just to record what I tend to spend yearly on work-related supplies.

See if you can get something through that .mil surplus for police program. If they say it doesn't work for individuals, just send them a picture of you dressed as Dredd.

We just had range quals the other day, and found out that since our town isn't going to budge on buying us a patrol rifle, they're considering a policy that allows us to carry our own if we have one.
I now have an excuse to start building one. "But honey....its for work!" I also managed to shoot a 236/250 with the M&P the first run through. All I did was change the amount of finger I had on the trigger and went up to a 249. We got to play with one of the guy's new Sig 320 in .40, and it was a great shooter, and I'm considering putting one of those on my 'do want' list. |

So, since I leave right of the interstate in Meth county USA, and after talking to some of the local cops, I decided to get a pistol light for my M&P. Ended up getting the TLR1 by streamlight. Damn this thing is bright! I read some reviews that if you have light walls, all those lumens will just bounce back at you and blind you as well. Luckily I have brown walls so that isn't a problem, but after playing with it at my parents house this weekend, I can confirm that white walls are blinding. Anyway, I also had a Burris Fast Fire 3 on my AR. When I bought it, I didn't realize that it was a mini red dot sight. So, I bought a riser and tried to make it work, but the glass is just too small. So I got the adapter and installed it on my M&P tonight. I'll have to play around at the range a bit with it, but so far I am happy with it.

I don't want to live in Cali because of the price to live there. I really don't want to be in any major city if I can avoid it. In my job searching days, the availabilities were always in large cities like Boston where apartments are expensive and absolute crap. There is no way to live a debt free life there on a low wage without some kind of government assistance.

I'm being flown out next week for an interview in Dallas. I haven't been home since late July 2012. The company is paying extra to let me stay and visit family/friends. I have to get up super early to drive to the airport, which will suck.

Man I love these, such a unique vehicle. I had a co-worker who had one and he had over 400k kilometres on it. It was rusted out unfortunately, but I couldn't help admire how well it ran and the snow it could go through. And FE, sorry you got pulled over but I admire how you handled it.
