Okay so I'm new to paintball and have myself an A-5 basic. I decided after taking it out to upgrade a few things. I Installed a stock and flat-line barrel, again no major moving parts here. Marker worked fine when we took it out. Then I installed the cyclone upgrades : piston rod, flex paddles, quick exhaust , and the ratchet shaft upgrade. I also installed a RT that does not work as well. I am using a ninja HAP tank.... I have watched the videos on YouTube over and over again. We hooked up a co2 tank to it and neither the RT or the cyclone worked but the marker shoots if you self load a ball. and i cycle the cyclone by hand.
Not sure if this would effect it but i put a zero kick hammer in it as well...

Wow, that's a whole lot of stuff to try an diagnose off the cuff. My advice would be to take it back down to stock and add an upgrade one at a time, and test it out with each new upgrade, then add another one in, test it, etc. That will give you an idea where the problem lies.
My guess is that if the RT & Cyclone aren't working, then it's an airflow problem. Did you upgrade to a larger diameter LP line for the cyclone and RT when you added both of those in? |

I know was my fault for doing it all at once. was trying to install it all before the wife got home to see all the stuff i bought.
I don't have the upgraded LP line...(one thing i didn't get) so i reverted back to the orginal expansion chamber and the cyclone works fine now. How ever the RT when hooked up after does not seem to be fully functioning i can see the pin come back out but i have no pressure on my trigger from it. Could it be cause i have a HPA tank? I have Co2 some where ill have to get an adapter and test it out with Co2 I guess. I read alotabout how tippmann's are made for co2 usage. |

Better yet I was reading into some other forums an they mentioned a ninja SHP regulator. They are $70 and give an out put of 1100 psi and have shims to add which can lower it to 950 psi which is ideal for the cyclone upgrade and the rt since the marker is an air hog as it is... is there a regulator out there that is preferred that just gives out the desired pressure of 950psi?

You can actually operate both off of the standard 800-850psi output without suffering any issues so long as you increase the inner diameter of your LP lines and banjo fitting from the power-tube tap. Essentially, by running both the RT and the cyclone off of the same amount of exhaust gas from the valve, you have to account for a need of a greater volume at a lower overall pressure. By upping the volume that can be bled off of the blow-back exhaust, you can run both the Cyclone and RT very well, and with the addition of the QEV, very quickly as well.
If you get the parts listed in this link and follow the instructions to a 'T'it should solve your problems. You'll notice it calls for a higher flow banjo fitting and LP line. Hope that helps! (P.S. the banjo fitting and line are CHEAP online). |
