I'm getting ready deal with this:
https://www.odmp.org/officer/23128-deputy-sergeant-kevin-haverly One of the deputies I used to work with at my old PD job was killed in an on-duty car accident a few days ago. He and I got to be friends when our shifts overlapped, he was working A lines with the Sheriff's office, and I was working Cs with the town. We killed time together when it was slow, and shagged calls together when it got busy. He was a great dude, and I'm still processing it. |

Went pheasant hunting up in PA. Personally nailed 4 of the six total that we took. My buddy Jae came with (he's the one holding the dog) and got two. It was his first upland hunt (my second). Ran my Ward's Western Field 600A-ERI (private-label Remington 878) even though it's a fixed full choke. Remington Pheasant loads with #5 shot in 12ga with 1-1/4oz at 1330fps for ammo. I let them get out a bit before pulling the trigger and was knocking them out of the sky with a single tap every time. One great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Replaced the transmission filter on my 03 suburban. Twas a pain in the butt and took up most of my weekend, but it's better than replacing a tranny.

Sorry to hear that Whale, losing a pet is awful. We picked our dog up from my parent's after 2 weeks so we could move into our house and get everything settled at the old apartment. He's super confused and stressed.

I spent last night at the ER animal clinic. Ended up having to put my cat to sleep.
He apparently had a form of enlarged heart that causes blood clots to form without much warning. One of the clots broke loose and hit his lung and then his arm, making it hard for him to breath and paralyzing his right side. I'm going to miss him a lot. |

I went to an anti-Trump immigration protest, and started working on the paperwork to start a local DSA group.
That's how my life is going at the moment.

Took my Focus in last week to get seat heaters installed. Dropped it off early in the morning and got a call around lunch from the guys. They were concerned that my seats were "too intricate" and that the heating elements would ruin them. So I opted to go without them and got a refund from the dealership instead.
So yesterday after work I took the seat money and got something a little more useful. Everyone should have a 44mag in their life.

It was an election year and at the point in time you see the data surge there, people though Hillary was a shoe-in. Still less overall time. A buddy of mine put in paperwork on a Specwar can 4 frikken years ago. BATFE said they never got the paperwork. Just got the call last month that he was approved. I don't think the licensing center was even remotely prepared for the rapid increase in suppressor popularity and SBR popularity that has happened in the past two years. SBRs are hotter than anything in MD right now since they're considered "Handguns" under state law which exempts them from our AWB. Meanwhile, hit up the Howard County gun show about a half-hour away from me this weekend. Got a MilSpec BCG and charging handle for my HBAR build. Edited by tallen702 - 05 February 2017 at 8:13pm |

I have a TTC as well. I'd love to carry condition one, but that import safety is garbage. A 1911 is much safer to carry.
I would be tempted to buy a new M57 just for the slide. I would carry one of those. Or chop the frame for standard Tok mags. I like the Maks and would like to mill a slide for new sights. Edited by SSOK - 02 February 2017 at 11:46am |

I've got a Romanian TTC which has a thumb safety. Makes it okay-ish for a carry weapon in the same way that a 1911 is okay-ish for carry. It all depends on how safe you feel either carrying condition one, or carrying with the need to rack the slide before firing. My carry weapon for the states where I can carry is my Hungarian PA-63. 9x18 Makarov in a Walther PP clone with a light weight aluminum-titanium alloy frame. It's small, accurate, and with JHPs, it does the job much better than a .380 would. P-64 is another good, cheap EDC from the old ComBloc. But yes, I LOVE my TTC. I'm more accurate with that than any of my other handguns. |

Barely related to C&R, but I know you used to love Toks. I recently got one and I love the size. I wish it was safe to carry and I got in when surplus was cheap. |
