This. Also, it should be noted that the higher your velocity, the less accurate your marker is. There are minimal gains in range (only a couple of feet at best) and those are usually defeated by the fact that your accuracy suffers greatly due to the deformation of the paintball from the higher pressure and drag created by the greater velocity. You also run a much greater risk of rounds breaking in the breech and barrel. 300FPS is the MAXIMUM SAFE LIMIT. |

Paintball masks are rated for a maximum velocity of 300 fps. Exceeding this is dangerous and irresponsible. Please do not crank your marker past 300 fps. You are risking injury to your fellow players. I would recommend sitting around 280-285 fps.

If that's within your safe velocity it's going to come down to projectile weight and if the hop-up works well with it. safe bet is still 50 yards max for pretty much any airsoft.

400fps with a field max .25 6mm BB will be accurate to about 40meters. A lot of factors to consider, GBB v electric is a variable, hop-up quality, BB quality, barrel type and polished degree.
My electric G&G M-14 Veteran I use as a DMR is a 40meter single shot accuracy piece at 425fps with a 15meter minimum range per local fps rules. My GBB K-4 (M-4) is a 45meter 400fps rifle. Field limits are .25 BB's. with heavier BB's get far better 'carry' range with the GBB for paper punching. You are still firing a smooth bore, round BB with some aerodynamic influence flaws in BB's (seams, pour snip, etc) so accuracy is the perception of need you have. |
