I had to look up what that was. I feel old.
Next time I go to the field, I'll have to buy a new HPA tank and hope that my Invert Mini still works. |

I have never bought a flagship gun.... until recently. Proud owner of a PE LV2!
Got a old buddy back into the game and he's having a ball. Also got a kid (18) that I know from AA into the game. He's absolutely hooked and I just introduced him to speedball, he really wants to play snake haha. Now looking at visiting some SoCal fields (always wanted to go to SC Village) and might even head back east once it warms up. |

I've started training Muay Thai. Loving it so far. Gonna try to get a match in before I'm too old. I've got boxes of paintball junk just sitting, and every time I look at em, I get kinda nostalgic. I might be willing to meet up somewhere!

Getting back into paintball. Just ordered new gear to replace the expired or non functional equipment. Detrevni, I sent you a PM to see if you are still playing and in the area.
Other than that, my wife and I have been taking a hip hop dance class for over a year. It’s a fun activity to do together. Got a onewheel, which is a blast to ride on. Also helps keep my legs ready for snowboard season.

Well, my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail.... Congrats on both fronts! The wife and I whittled our names down to two. Both of us vetoed several of each other's suggestions. It was either going to be Reilly Michael or Michael Spencer. (Michael is both my father and my first name). When the doctors pulled the little guy from the incision in my wife's abdomen, we decided right then and there he'd be Reilly Michael. Names I liked, but the wife vetoed: Graham Gareth Cailean Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All |

I'm certain I mentioned it! I'll have to dig through the thread. Well, that was 2 years ago, and I'm very happy! And now, clearly, there's a little boy on the way. Naming kids is hard. :(

Yeah, so long as your wife isn't in the ICU on a ventilator, the baby will be fine. Given that she's caught it midway through pregnancy, the kiddo will likely have some immunity left when it enters this crazy world. Also, I feel like you didn't tell us you got married? Maybe you did, but it's slipped my mind? I am getting old these days. I turn 43 in a few more months.

Whoops! Weeks! Anyhoo, I'm back in Texas for a bit to celebrate my dad's birthday. We think we all caught it during said celebration. My wife has it, and she was worried about its effects on the baby. Doctors don't seem worried. I feel cruddy, but mostly fine. Mom and dad got it too, so far they also seem fine. My sister also got it, and she's... Delicate. She's not doing well. We're a bit worried.

18 months? Twins?
Also, Covid is easy so long as you got vaccinated. Mine lasted about 3 days, of which, only 1 was cruddy. |

Would they really be English, though?
My son was born and raised in Maryland, but he still considers himself a West Virginian through and through. I'm sure Scotchy Junior will be as Scottish as they come. |

So I've knocked someone up. Luckily it was the bird but I might have made another English person which I'm not entirely happy about.

Nice! If I had the time, I'd get back in. Probably will as soon as the boy gets a little older.
Meanwhile, my life is sucking from the word "go" this morning. Trying to hire people in the current market suuuuucks. |

Welp, I'm officially playing paintball again. Ordered a PE Etha 3 M, tank, pod pack, barrel maid and some other goodies. Found out my buddy orders pallets of paint at a time for his team and will sell it at cost, so that will help a lot. Airsoft was fun, but it isn't paintball.

Them planning on looking at the election law case is the scary one. Don't take democracy for granted, because it isn't guaranteed.

Why not? It was a completely unfounded opinion when it happened. The stretch of it being a "right to privacy" issue has nearly unanimously been called BS by scholars on every side of the issue. Even one of the authors for Roe said it was outright the wrong thing to hang it on.
People are pissed off at the SCOTUS on this one, but they really *shouldn't* be. Scotus looked at this, ruled on the case's merits, and found Roe to be lacking as everyone has said it was for decades. What they SHOULD be mad at is multiple Democrat majorities and super majorities in Congress in the intervening years who failed to codify Roe into federal law. Had they done that, this would be a completely different situation. They also need to be mad at RBG for hanging onto a seat long enough that she died under a Republican administration instead of retiring under Obama when she had a chance. But she wanted to hold on and relinquish her post under Hillary, rolled the dice, and came up short. Instead of cursing her hubris, I see countless RBG quotes and homages for a ruling she absolutely laid the groundwork for. The shortsightedness of it all is just astounding. For the record, I'm pro-choice. |

Well, Roe v Wade was overturned today. I never thought it would happen.
This will be ugly.

Wrapping up my year at the Command and General Staff College in a little over a month. Just closed on our second house in Illinois a couple weeks ago. It has a 1,000 sqft garage and a view of the Mississippi without being in a flood zone, so that's gonna be pretty sweet. Still working on my MBA from KU, rock chalk and stuff. Should be finishing up with that around this time next year, 5 more classes left. And I got promoted to Major a few months back, so that's fun. 9 years left until I can retire!

I need to make a pack list, for sure. Painkillers are a good call... I'm shooting for late summer, like end of August. That would give me 4ish months to burn some of my rather excessive fat and do some altitude training as well. If this doesn't kill me, I really want to work my way up to summiting Longs Peak, which has a bit of a reputation. But that'll be dependent on how Bierstadt goes, and maybe a few more lower level summits.
