When putting the gun back together where does the front bolt have to be in the chamber? Does it have to be resting on the ball latch?

no just put the bolts together (front and rear bolts) with the linkage arm and then push them in all the way until the rear bolt is in the gun (all the way in so you can put the end cap on ) after you done that you can cock it back on the cocking handle and the it's all good to shoot (after you put the gas, balls, safety on) and also don't put the gas in until you have cocked it

P.S if you can't fix then Post reply

hmm I dont quite understand what youre saying man.  Is the valve plunger meant to be sticking out of the back of it inside the power tube?

Also, is the rear bolt meant to be pushed into the power tube by the spring from the end cap?

the power tube goes in the front bolt ,the valve goes in the power tube the linkage arm goes in the front bolt and the rear bolt and the rear bolt faces the way it does in the manual and the drive spring goes inside the rear bolt through the rear end (<<< sorry if it sounds a bit **edited**)

keep posting on youre progress
