Response trigger adjustment

   I just got an A5 with response trigger.

I cannot get it to fire more than once per trigger pull.

I have tried tuning the response rate of fire with the flow control valve as described in the manual at  http://www.tippmann.com/pdfs/manuals/A5_Marker_Line_Manual.p df
on page 12.  Regardless of what I do my rate of fire remains one per trigger pull.  

I tighten it, I loosen it.  There is no difference.  I did notice the trigger is not that difficult (the manual suggests you won't be able to pull the trigger, although I have very strong hands) to pull when the flow control valve is completely tightened.  The manual indicates that might be a leak in the marker.  Is that in fact a leak and how much of an effect would that have on the response trigger rate of fire?

The tech where I bought the marker says I'm just pulling through too much on the trigger and to just practice.

Seems like a total pain in the *^^ to use, but I'm going to Skirmish Invasion of Normandy in a week so any advice on adjusting the response trigger is appreciated.

	it mite be the hose. get a bigger hose. call tippmann and they could send one to you for free

	Leaks, regardless of how strong you are, if there are no leaks the trigger will be VERY noticeably hard to pull. That is with the flow control turned all the way clock-wise. Check your hoses for any splits or cracks and check for all your o-rings on the RT and cyclone fittings. They are very small and can easily be dropped or misssing.

	Much thanks for the responses. I took the marker back to the dealer today and asked the tech I bought it from to recheck it. I highlighted to him the Tippman manual suggested I had a leak. When I returned he informed me there is a problem with (I think) the flow control valve or one of the retaining pins "nicking" an o-ring every time its inserted in to the body of the marker. (So it is most definitly a leak good call casper8X). He seemed to think it had something to do with the camo finish on the body of the A5. He then wanted to file (sorry he spoke to fast for me to understand what the heck he was talking about) something(?) down. He then tried to sell me an old (pre WAB) E grip to solved the problem. My position is I bought the marker off the shelf with the RT installed by them. I was back in the shop same day (actually within one hour of purchase) because the RT didn't work when I took it out of the box at work. Either make it work (stop leaking or replace the marker. Tech says the shop owner will call me tomorrow, we'll see they are normally closed on Wednesdays. Would not tell me the return policy. I'll have to check Tippmann's warranty if any. Bottom line to me , if the marker has a manufacturing flaw that causes the camo version to incorrectly mount a flow control valve its a Tippman issue, otherwise I have a dealer issue with how they installed the RT. It didn't work when I purchased it and I'm at Invasion of Normandy this weekend so I need a marker even if it only shoots semi-auto. I'm withholding the name of the place in New Jersey where I bought this pending giving them a chance to do the right thing here. Regards

	Just a follow up, the problem has been identified and solved. Turns out the problem was the CR-15 stock I added to the marker. Some set screw was defective and allowing just enough play in the stock that it wasn't sealing the piston area properly. With the standard end cap in place the marker appears to function as expected. Dealer has to wait to get repair parts (wouldn't swap it for me). I will say I got frustrated enough with the myriad of dealer explanations what the problem "could" be (nicked 0-rings, piston leak), I called Tippman direct to complain. My main complaint was the dealer says they are not allowed by Tippmann to just repair by replacing parts until Tippmann had a chance to examine the defective parts (Hey Tippmann!, I say if a part is bad let the dealer swap it out on the spot so the customer is not inconvenienced, THEN by all means recover the defective part so you guys can do your Six Sigma defect reduction). Just a thought. The tech guys I spoke to at Tippmann understood my dilemma and offered to put the new parts on the show trailer that is coming to Skirmish ION this weekend, they offered to do the warranty on the spot for me Friday night or Saturday morning. The downside is I lost a lot of time going back and forth to the dealer and had my patience tested. Plus I don't have use of the CR15 stock I purchased, but the marker and RT is working now. So kudos the Tippmann tech guys for understanding the meaning of customer service and customer satisfaction! My son is buying an A5, and we'll keep the 98 is reserve for when markerless friends stop buy.

	It's good to see the problem was solved. I wonder if your tech guy knew what he was talking about though. I fail to understand how the cammo finish could cause an R/T to fail...

	You've likely got a leak in your air supply to the trigger. I ran into the same issue after installing the response trigger and eliminated the problem after resetting the grip assembly. The manual is correct in stating that if the trigger pulls hard with the control turned in clockwise, it's working properly. A weak to medium pull on the trigger gets the best results. That does take some practice which is what the tech is likely talking about. But he's wrong if that's all he believes is wrong. I'd first have him check the gun (or do it yourself; the gun's fairly easy to take apart and reassemble).
