Okay, for those of you who may not be able to view it here it is!

Remember When?!

When I was just wet behind the ears,
Do you remember when?

You scrambled for the balls I hit,
You dove for the balls I threw.

You jumped out of the way from the pucks I hit,
You blocked the balls I kicked.

But what I remember most,
Are paintball games gone by.

Do you remember when?

You gogged me with paintball hits,
As you gave me welts and made them sting.

Do you remember when?

You made me set up your tent,
As you talked with your friends.

Do you remember when?

You made me fetch you beers,
For you and your friends.

Do you remember when?

You made me clean your dishes,
After you cooked your mighty feast,
Of Franks and Beans.

Do you remember when?

I cleaned your gear,
In the end.

So Dad, today I take the time to remember when, you loved me so,
To drag me along and show me the ropes.

Today Dad is PAYBACK time,
For all those, Remember Whens!

Because I have purchased for you,
an entry to BlackCat Paintball Productions’ event,

so that we may re-live those days of, Remember Whens!
Except, Dear Dad, today I am much older, wiser, and not so wet behind the ears.   

I will still fetch you your beer, I will still set up your tent,
I will still clean your dishes after your mighty feast, and still clean and pack your gear.

But beware, because Friendly Fire still counts in the end!

Ode from a Paintball Widow

I cry and yell and sigh and moan
Then kick and cry some more.
"Another paintball game???" I ask,
As you walk right out our door.

"The kids need shoes! The yard needs mowed!
My mother's on her way,
How could you leave to play paintball
When tomorrow's my friend's birthday?"

I dutifully amble into our yard
As you pack up for you spree,
I sadly wave, a tear I shed,
As you drive away with glee.

I watch you speed off to your game,
A tear squeezed from my eye,
One last, limp wave, a downturned head,
A final moan, a sigh.

Then when I am sure you are out of sight,
I jump and heels I click.
"Freedom at last!!" I smile and say,
"Do you really think I am ticked?"

I talk on the phone, have the remote to myself,
--The yard I refuse to mow,
Eat your snack cakes, smoke your cigars,
Then off to the mall I go!

And late that night when you're still gone,
The popcorn is all for us,
As I sit with my friends and watch chick flicks,
--We laugh, we joke, we cuss.

Yes, darling, I confess--not all is as it seems,
I really love paintball.
If you were here watching all I do
How could I spend money at the mall?

So here's a little gift from me.
Don't look at me--aghast.
I wish you a Happy Father's Day
