Hi,

I'm quite new to paintball, and have recently purchased a new Phenom which I've only used once, and is in good condition. (so please be gentle, I feel dumb enough already)

Yesterday, my etrigger stopped working. It simply won't fire!

This is pretty much what happens:

- Start on Safe
- Switch to FA (LED goes solid green)
- I try fire, and it makes absolutely no noise whatsoever

- If I remove the etrigger, and point it up, it then fires (in Safe Auto)
- When holding it horizontally, it will only fire if I push that metal catch down, and it works well

I am also unable to even program it when it's fitted to the marker, it seems that I can (sort of) program it when it has been stripped from the marker. I don't want to mess around with it too much and screw it up even more.

I'd really appreciate any help if possible.

Thanks

When it stopped working was the tank on? I mean were you dry firing it so to speak?
There is no sear in the Phenom, so no sear 'spring' to return everything to cocked position.
When you gas it up, it will then reset the solenoid to shoot.

Are you reading the manual as to programming it?
What setting are you trying to set? Mode? etc.

I'll try to help you if I can.

Hi Tinman,

Thanks for responding.

It stopped working when the tank was not on, so yes, I ended up dry firing it.
The problem started when I was trying to change the firing mode, the trigger could not get me through the menus.

When I try with gas, it also does nothing at all on FA, but it will fire on semi-auto.

I have read the manual and have found a really good video on YouTube detailing the steps.
I can't even do a reset, very odd.

I have taken it to 2 shops for advice, and they both said it appears that the electronics may be faulty.

Ok, they don't dry fire click like the A-5 or X7. That's normal, so that's ok as is.

To reset the board: move the selector switch to 'FA'. Press and hold the programming button
for 10 seconds, then release the button.
If you did it right, the light will flash Red, Orange, Green twice, then the light will go out.
DO NOT touch the button or trigger until the light comes back on. About another 10 sec.

Try that.
I'm reluctant to tell you how to set the HE sensor depths in case you require
Tippmann warranty repair. Hopefully the reset will work Wink

Good luck

I'll give that a try, although I have already tried to reset it.

I did go go to 2 shops yesterday and they both said the electronics must be faulty.

Thanks for all your help!

Contact Tippmann at 1-800-533-4831 and speak with a rep about sending the egrip in for warranty service. Tippmann service is great, they'll fix it right up for you at no cost.
