    Posted: 21 March 2007 at 9:22pm

Hello all, I am not very 'new' to the whole paintball thing. I have a project I am curently under going where I want to transform a normal 'Tippmann 98 Custom' into a .30 cal machine gun. In order to make it a little 'realistic' I was going to upgrade it so that it would but full-automatic. But.. before I buy anything, I wanted to see what you guys had to think about the E-Trigger Kit and how well it works in the field. So my questions are:

- Is the E-Trigger the best 'full auto' kit you can get?

- Is it worth the money?

- What is the cheapest and reasonable price of this kit?

- How is it install?

- Any other info you can provide:

I have looked for several of these answer, the cheapest I have seen is 100 dollars. Although I do not know how to install this it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out. Also, if anyone has done something like this (.30cal, MG42) for WWII reeanacting, please post your ideas. Thanks guys!

Engler Custom makes an MG-34/42 based on a tippmann '98 and on an Ion depending on what style you want. But they'll run you around $2000.00

That said, the only options you have are either the e-grip, the e-bolt, or a "crank" style system.

The e-grip gives you multiple modes of firing as does the e-bolt

Both are worth the money

For price, they'll be cheaper used than new, but prices are pretty steady across the board

The install for the e-grip requires you to have a newer custom '98. The e-bolt will fit in any model '98, but it is no longer made and can be tricky to find used. The e-grip is a drop-in. Easy as pie. The e-bolt tends to take a little more finesse, but still very easy.

For the serious reenactor, the crank-systems aren't even an option, plus, it's bulky and you have to hand-crank the sucker.

I was looking at the E-Grip and I'm guessing thats the way to go.
