    Posted: 21 September 2006 at 10:29pm

I have a custom 98 fitted with an rt and cyclone with a full metal interior and i use compressed air, and everytime i shoot with my teardrop(14inch)  my groupings about a foot and a half or so at about 50 feet. I find it slight inacurate ( the occasional ball off course is aceptable) but i was wondering if their was anything else than hte barell that affects accuracy i should look at.

Currently i have a rear velociy adjuster and iam not sure which setting would be best in order to have enought air to shoot the ball properly(velocity), and have my rt and cyclone work well. I find that when my velocity is to low my rt doesnt work... Is it broken?

My dads freak gives better accuracly but the second i shoot bursts(lets say 3 shot burst) the grouping is horrible. Is this normal?

I got the gun off my couzin and only get to play once in a while so i guess i;d call myself a newb...

Any barrels worth buying that would realy increase accuracly? What about the m-16 style ones, are they realy accurate? or is it jsut looks?

Thanks for the help

Frank

I am amazed and disappointed in humanity right now.

What kind of paint are you using? Air source? Velocity [and consistency] (ie, get a chrono and stop guessing)? Paint to barrel match?

i know it gats old after a while h-s, but he said he's a noob.

i think you are gonna just have to deal with the inaccuracy of paintball. its not like it ruins the game. some things you could try: make sure your velocity is between 275-300 fps. higher does not equal accurate. try your old original internals, if you want to increase consistency (of velocity) switch to compressed air.

he's already using compressed air

do what these guys said. make sure your marker is shooting a good velosity. 275-300 is just fine, but keep it under 300 for safety reasons.

also, you have a decent barrel, so my guess is your paint is bad. make sure it fits will. they should not roll through and they shoulg not get stuck so tight you can't blow them through with your mouth.

also, with the 3 shots burst, the faster you shoot, the lower your accuracy goes. why? because its harder to stabilize the marker when shooting fast. it doesn't take much, but if the tip of the barrel moves just a 1/2 inch, that can mean feet down range.

Thanks a lot guys. Iam using x ball bronze but their are a lot of small flat spots. The balls do role down so that would explain it, the accuracy is indeed better with the freak set.

Clear and usefull explinations. il take it out on the crono at the court, i just dont have anymoney to spend on buying one.

As for the three round burst would it be possible the next two shots that follow dont get the same amount of velocity? on my brothers rodeo with rocking trigger the pressure guage drops as you shoot faster. could this be an issue on my tippman? is it fixable?

Thanks a lot and sorry if this has been asked but i realy dont come around very often and when i do i only look at the 3 recent pages or so, depending if i have time.

The Bronze I have right now shoots like crap. That is probably your problem.

As for the 3 shot thing, it might be the recoil that is affecting your accuracy.

well,  shoot down can happen. when you shoot so fast that your air tank can't recharge itself to put out the pressure needed and this can effect your accuracy, but it would mostly effect your velosity.

that and only 3 shots i don't think is enough to have shoot down with. if that is the case, your tank stinks :)

Thanks a lot for the help. il check out what can be done with your help.

The balls are actualy procaps in a xball box... Realy stinky paint. I went out to play in the woods behind my house with my broher with pump actions and the one year old balls would break, even at point blank.
