I just got back from the local shop where I was talking to the guys about Spyder's vs cockers/angels. If you're just a rec player, not in tourny or anything, and want a simple, inexpensive gun that is simple to repair, then I (and the shop owner who I was talking to about just this subject) suggest something like the Spyder Imagine. It runs $130-180 dpending where you go.

He explained a few things to me about cockers, and for a leisure player, cockers are overkill. He agrees that they are very hard to repair and tune, however can be made insanely fast, but are very expensive for that reason.

Spyder E99, or Imagine (virtualy same gun, different styling/features, run close to teh same price) would be my suggestion.
"Autocock THIS"

M98, original.
Spyder SE barrel/lapco adapter.
20oz Pure Energy co2.

Polished internals, polished rear bolt.

Looking forward to getting a full boar rear cocking knob. Custom

My friend (who shall remain nameless) has a virtually stock Imagine that chops and double fires like mad. Maybe if you upgrade it  (Bolt, T- Board, Reg, Barrel, etc) it would be a decent gun, but by then you could've spent four, five hundred dollars or more. I'd get a BKO. They are fast guns and a built pretty tough.
