Hi All,

I got a Phenom about 5 months ago but only actually got around to properly using it this weekend for various reasons anyway.

Gassed it up on HPA (3000 PSI, 48 CU steel tank, probably not relevant) and it seemed largely fine but i noticed the accuracy was **edited**ed all day (i had test fired it previously with CO2 with no problems, probably 500 balls with possibly 1 break that i noticed). At the weekend it seemed to be breaking at least 1 ball with each hopper full. It was chrono'd at between 255 - 275 FPS which seemed like a large variation to me (first shot always higher then much tighter spread, probably 255 - 265 for subsequent shots).

Anyway, i half assumed it was the paint, all things on the marker are stock except using some ceramic barrel which is what i had used previously and i have a tech-t fang trigger. I tested it again today (with only about 1.5k PSI in the tank) and fired a hopper full of balls through it (the same type as the 500 i had test fired with 1/no breaks previously) as quick as i could on mechanical only and it broke probably about the 115th ball or so, just the 1, i shot the rest anyway, no more breaks. I took a look and some (a VERY small amount) of the paint was in the cyclone, we are talking just 1 splatter, the vast majority was down the barrel. Is this a typical amount of breakage to be expected with the X7? I took the marker to pieces tonight and checked the bolt surface and spring, all seems fine, manually spinning the cyclone it seems to feed correctly and there are no obvious deformations in the hole to feed the barrel or in the cyclone itself that i could tell. I also checked the barrel met inside correctly and it appears too. It has me a bit stumped tbh. I also noticed that firing those 200 balls from the hopper in mechanical took my HPA from 1.5kpsi to about, well, somewhere less than 500, is this normal? I've never had a paintball gun of my own before.

If anyone can just let me know if this just sounds normal for an X7 or not that'd be helpful. Any help beyond that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I think the best thing to do is go buy some quality paintballs.  With the velocity fluctuations & inaccurate shots you report it would lead me to believe your paint isn't very good.  Let us know how it shoots!
