so i just bought a tippmann a5 maybe a month ago, been out twice with it, and i break balls every 5-10 shots, so i normally dont shoot until i see something within 20 feet... so after hours and hours of sanding my gun and polishing the internals to make sure its 100% jagged-proof, i pop 1 ball in the cyclone, and push the cyclone in all the way and let my finger to slip off, only to take the ball out and see it shredded.. and it did it with 3 different things of paint, so i put in some squishy paddles (got em for 10$ in edmonton TechT too!) and tried again, same result, oiled them, same result.. and i just finished taking off the bottom plate only to find a black ratchet (which is apparently outdated) but there is an A (it says A1 but apparently all i need is the A) on the bottom of the plate.. its a response trigger and ive been using gold cup all over it, and im starting to go mad, its got a response trigger, and stock everything except the squishy paddles.. yet everyone else i play with has only had a break every 2000 balls and if the balls do break they break 10 feet away from them in mid-air.. please help
*edit* after oiling both my breach opening, the cyclone hook and the cyclone the balls only break at the seam, but it seems the cyclone still squishes them too hard to spit em into the gun, any way of fixing it? Edited by Misty - 24 May 2013 at 1:52pm |

Misty, if the Cyclone has an A1 molded in the bottom plate & a black ratchett installed then you have the most current setup. Do you have any aftermarket parts in this marker? Attach some pictures of the hook area of the receiver (remove the Cyclone). Can you shoot one shot at a time or does your marker slip to full-auto? Provide more information on your setup, air source, barrel type & any alterations you have made. Did you buy it new or used? What velocity is shooting? Also do a drop test on your paintballs. Drop the paint from about 4 feet on a smooth hard surface. Do they break or bounce? They should bounce. More info will help. Thanks!

thanks for replying, it has the TechT squishy paddles and thats it, its got the response trigger upgrade which i can shoot one at a time easily, i bought it new and use a 20oz Co2 can, chronod in around 220-240 i believe, stock barrel, and i just sanded my hook and breach opening to make it as smooth as possible, my paint sometimes breaks from a 3 foot fall and sometimes doesent, which paint would you recommend for shooting in 5-25 celcius weather?
thanks

It sounds like you have very brittle paint. Try some different mid-grade paintballs.
