Gentlemen. I've noticed a pattern that I don't really care for.
If a new user comes in here and posts a thread that belongs elsewhere, I've seen three or four posts in said thread saying "Wrong forum genius." 1. There is no reason for more than one person to gently prod the newcomer into posting in the appropriate forum next time. Three people saying the same thing makes you looks like parrots awaiting on a cookie. Which brings me to my next point: 2. If you aren't going to be helpful, don't freakin post. Don't say "wrong forum" if someone else already has, don't "Haha n00b" and don't hijack the thread. The user has a legitimate question. Piling crap on him makes you, and the forum, look bad. 3. Remember also kiddies, that the poster doesn't have the the ability to MOVE said thread. Unless he deletes it, then rewrites it, but nobody wants to go through that. Contact one of the moderators and ask that the thread be moved to the appropriate location. Should the poster read the threads first? Perhaps, but the fact of the matter is, they don't all pay attention to where they're posting- don't make things worse by muddling around with the same message 8 times- In fact, I think I'll start deleting repetitive "Wrong forum" posts. Play nice. Edited by Reb Cpl - 15 September 2008 at 1:51pm |
