This topic may have been presented once but I could not find it, and so, let's press forward.
I have an older version A5 which has been modified. Although it has caused me some maintenance issues in the past, I love it, but have considered that maybe I should be moving on. Actually I have two A5's. One has the Tippmann Flatline with a response trigger and the other has an APEX2 barrel with an APE Rampage board. I have considered possibly selling both markers and moving on to the electronic X7 Phenom, however I have heard both good and bad. Would like to stay in the Tippmann family and if I go Phenom, many of the accessories I have for the A5 could be swapped onto the Phenom platform. What does the forum have to say?

I think if I were you, I'd go for the Phenom. I say that as someone who has used both.
The A5 line is rugged and reliable, but the Phenom has a lot to offer with the electronic options, and like you said, a lot of your upgrades will already work with the new marker. Besides that, who doesn't love new toys? |
