Another leak post....

   I just got my brand new T98 Platinum Custom (Ultra Basic). Then I went to the local dive shot to air-up. I got home so the kids and I immediately went to jack the tank into the gun when I heard a quiet hissing coming from the area where the gas line connects to the valve body (this is one of the newer guns with the unthreaded, metal-on-metal connection at the valve body). This gun is completely stock with no mods.

There's nothing worse than getting my first PB gun at age 40-something, only to have it leak!!! :) So i started studying the problem and followed Tippman's how to video, and other videos showing what to do. I've disassembled this thing 10 times now, can't find a defect in the O-rings or the area where the hose and valve body meet, everything is snug when I put it back together, and I cock the gun first before charging with HPA. It still leaks. 

I got the gun from an ebay store (they haven't responded to my complaints yet) and sent in a note to Tippmann but there isn't a PB store anywhere near me (in rural South Carolina) so this will have to be a DIY job as I hate the thought of shipping my gun somewhere to be fixed. I figured it's either a problem with the valve assembly and/or the hose, so I ordered a new one of each - too impatient to wait for my warranty to take care of things. ;)  

Just thought I'd let people know that this is still an occasional problem with the T98; has anyone ever put their own o-ring between the metal-on-metal fitting at the valve body? Does it work? 

I don't want to knock Tippmann; I'm buying two-three more guns for my kids and they are all Tippmanns, but the Germans tried metal on metal fuel line fittings in their WWII tanks (due to a rubber shortage?), and they all freakin leaked like crazy!!!
