Hello all,

I am completely new to the game of paintballing and looking for an idea of what type of gun I should be looking for.  I do know that I would prefer something along the lines of of the Tippmann A5 (sniper rifle).  I'm looking to join scenario games and feel that would be my best advantage.  ANY thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'm honestly just looking for a strong gun that has plenty of add-ons for later.

Thanks in advance,

One Two.

Depends on your budget, but if you like Tippmans and want plenty of customization options the Phenom is a really fantastic marker.

Watch who you are calling a "noob". New players that are asking reasonable questions should not be referred to as such. The term "noob" has a negative connotation.

In regards to markers, the A5 is a very versatile maker. There are tons of upgrades, both mechanical and appearance. The Project Salvo, which came out last June or July I beleive, is meant as an entry level marker. it can be had with an E-grip for around $170 which is a decent deal. Add a cyclone and you have a $220ish marker that will hold its own. However, it does have limited appearance upgrades.

All said, both are great markers and built with Tippmann quality, you can't go wrong with either.

I agree with oldpbnoob that the A5s are very versatile, open for all kinds of up grading once you really get a feel of the direction you would like to go in your playing. they are very reliable to and if you ever do have an issue tippmanns service department is excellent.

The best that Tippman currently makes is the Phenom.  The original model is $400 although they have a new mechanical-only version for $300 [which you can later you upgrade the trigger on for $130 - if you want].

Please don't post the same essential question in more than one thread. There really are not that many here answering these questions to warrant multiple threads.

Go out and play.  And read the stickies at the tops of the forums. Packed full of good advice.

Play. Play some more. Play with people better than you are. Play again. Don't upgrade your gun, buy air and entry fees first.

If you play regularly for 6-8 months, then (and only then) start upgrading your gear if you think its necessary.

There is no better teacher than experience, there is no bigger waste than buying new guns/gear but not having enough money to play.

The paintballs will not dump onto the ground, but they wont feed into the marker.

So you will definitely shoot the one ball in the breech, but its unlikely that any more will feed in. Its possible that the five in the paddles will feed but dont count on it.
