Im thinking about getting a tpx. i play alot of woods ball and scenario paint ball. i want to get the tpx for a side arm with my a-5 but all of my buddys say its a waste of money and whats the point if ur faceing more then 8 people cuz it only has 8 shots per mag. any one got any advice or any tips?

I currently have several pistols and have had several others over the last 7 years or so. During that time I only had to use one as a back-up on the field twice that I can remember.* If you want a pistol for their usefulness as a back-up marker you probably will not get your money's worth out of it. If you do find yourself in need of a back-up on the field on a regular basis you should probably consider carrying more paint/air on the field or getting a better primary marker.
With that said, if you want a pistol, I still say "go for it." Paintball is not about useful; it is about fun. If having a paintball pistol adds to your enjoyment of the game then it is worth it and the opinions of others don't really matter. Pistols are nice to have for closer encounters when running with a pump and can provide neophyte pump players with a little more confidence. It is also fun to go out on the field "pistol only" on occasion. *Once in a situation where I needed to remain unseen and using the pistol to eliminate an opponent close to me required significantly less movement than using my 98 and once because all the paint I had left was in the T-8 and the spare magazine. |

The TPX is a great little back up marker but if it's riding second pony to another Tippmann Marker it will probally ride the holster a lot. Now with that being said if you use your TPX like I do as a close quarters marker or a small bunker clearer then it's a fantastic marker for that role.
I play MILSIM style when I approach a structure I always sling my X7 phenom or Project Salvo and draw my TPX. Not only does it make me a smaller target. It steps up the challenge and adrenaline factor knowing that I have 8 shots in a good day and I don't know what is waiting for me at the other side is it one or three is there an e Electro waiting for me inside? I start to pie off entry ways and clear the bunker or structure untill it's time to drop the hammer on someone. Yeah those moments the price tag of the tpx really seems a moot point. Because thosemomrnts are why I compete and why I keep comming back to play. |

I agree with evil elvis whole hartedly. i use my tpx for exactly that. close quarters and room clearing. its a great side arm. i love to death. i used to own a pt extreme and tpx is so much better. its the bmw of pistols. if this is want you want to use it for, then get it. if you are looking for a main marker. get a 98, x7, or a5. but the tpx is an awsome marker. especially if you play stock class. i highly recomend it. i love mine
