Ok, I have a Tippmann 98 custom that I'm pretty sure was bought from Wal-mart. I have a Cyclone feed, flatline with rail, double tirigger, and red dot scope on it and I feel like the trigger pull is very heavy compared to other guns, its loud as hell (yes i know tippmans are known for their noise but this is bad. MY friend has a nicer tippmann 98 then i do and it make almost no noise.) and it just doesnt seem to be living up to the good Tippmann name. I just want to know if it is worth the $110 at my paintball shop to buy a camo tippmann 98 Custom Pro and put all my add ons on it. Is it worth the money or am i gunna get exacty the same thing i had before? Any ideas?

There is no difference. Most likely the reason your marker is considerably louder is due to the Flatline barrel. Since it is not ported, it tends to act like a megaphone. Personally, I like loud. I used to have an A5 with a Flatline and E-grip that was insanely loud. Also, 98's and most other Tippmanns tend to be loud due to the design. There's really little you can do besides getting a ported barrel. Perhaps a RocketcockII that cover the area in the side where the cocking handle is would help a little. |

yeah that makes sense. I generally play woodsball so there is a need to be quiet. I just figured that because the tippmann came from wally-world it would have cheaper parts. but yeah the flatline unfortunatly doesnt shoot the cheap paint i buy so i was thinking of getting a new barrel. any recomendations?
